I doubt many hold a lower opinion of Obama than I do, but I have to say that issuing talking points to the press in advance of a debate seems like a very reasonable thing for a campaign to do.

I only hope that McCain’s team has done the same thing.

“issuing talking points to the press in advance of a debate seems like a very reasonable thing for a campaign to do.”

Seems to me that “talking points” indicate that the candidate knows what’s going to be asked beforehand and assumes the media will ignore the other candidates responses. How is that reasonable? Seems like the media should have to do their jobs by listening to the debate and evaluating each candidates reponses. Maybe I’m just naive.

Yeah, there is always hope. Sheesh.

I hope I win the lottery.
I hope I get a new pony for Christmas.
I hope Jenny likes me.
I hope I find a job.
I hope the Orioles make The Playoffs.
I hope John McCain takes on Obama regarding his judgment.
I hope the sun comes out tomorrow.

Nothing personal, but McCain's “team”? This “coach” reminds me of another coach, Ted Marchibroda (sp) with the Baltimore Colts. Run, run, pass, kick.

Real nice try, but NO CIGAR! Maceman, I am beyond pissed at McCain.

If McCain did that the media would report it like a scandal. I can just hear some chick with her fake deep voice saying, “And tonight...flashy graphics...What was John McCain thinking?...McCain making a stupid face....journalist receive talking points....visual of the talking points, zooming and rotating.......Is John McCain trying to manipulate the media?”

“* This is John McCain’s last chance to turn this race around and somehow convince the American people that his erratic response to this economic crisis doesn’t disqualify him from being President.”

This isn’t the candidate laying out the details of the programs he is hoping to discuss in tonight’s debate, this is an attempt by the DNC to yet again collude with the media to present the reporting of the news. This is giving the editors the framing of the debate coverage to be “on point”.

Ever wonder why the networks all lead with the same handful of stories with all that goes on in the world?

Ever wonder why they ALL seized on the word “g-r-a-v-i-t-a-s” in 2000?
