“Baffled:” Secret Service can’t find anyone to corroborate reporter’s “Kill them” claim

The “Kill Them” claim spread like wildfire across the MSM as evidence of “insane rage” on the Right. Barack Obama mentioned it during the debate.

Now that the Secret Service has investigated and failed to find a single person to corroborate the reporter’s claim, I’m sure you’ll be seeing this on the front pages and nightly news lead stories in all the media outlets that spread it.

Right?

Riiiiiight.

The Times-Leader reports:

The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled “kill him” when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally are unfounded.

The Scranton Times-Tribune first reported the alleged incident on its Web site Tuesday and then again in its print edition Wednesday. The first story, written by reporter David Singleton, appeared with allegations that while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd and mentioned Oabama’s name a man in the audience shouted “kill him.”

News organizations including ABC, The Associated Press, The Washington Monthly and MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann reported the claim, with most attributing the allegations to the Times-Tribune story.

Agent Bill Slavoski said he was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment.

“I was baffled,” he said after reading the report in Wednesday’s Times-Tribune.

He said the agency conducted an investigation Wednesday, after seeing the story, and could not find one person to corroborate the allegation other than Singleton.

Slavoski said more than 20 non-security agents were interviewed Wednesday, from news media to ordinary citizens in attendance at the rally for the Republican vice presidential candidate held at the Riverfront Sports Complex. He said Singleton was the only one to say he heard someone yell “kill him.”

“We have yet to find someone to back up the story,” Slavoski said. “We had people all over and we have yet to find anyone who said they heard it.”

Once it becomes an Obamanation, they’re going to be surprised when they’re taking orders DIRECTLY from the White House.

They won't mind one bit. During the clinton years, leftist reporters had a ball, with parties at the White House and free ord'oeuvres and chardonnay practically every day.

So what if Clinton forced at least six media outlets to fire reporters he didn't like. Those weren't their sort of people anyway.

One of the things I suspect the press most resents about Bush is no more free celebrity parties on the White House lawn, no more free drinks, no more Hollywood stars and starlets to schmooze around with. If Obama gets in, there will be perpetual party time for his favored sycophants.

Maybe someone shouted “kill him with kindness” or we’ll “kill them” in the election. So now you can’t use “kill” under any circumstances at a political debate? More PC crap!

I agree with you to an extent. However, the MSM will quickly realize that Obama is going to be much more dictatorial than the Clintons. Bubba was all about having fun while being in charge. Obama is going to be all about BEING IN CHARGE. And many more of the “journalists” in the MSM are going end up in the not “their sort of people” pile.

This quote from Martin Niemoller is going to have much more meaning very soon:

“First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out.
And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.”

This reminds me of the AP story that claimed Republicans were cheering after it was announced that Bill CLinton had a heart attack. Yet, if you watched the video of the incident it was clear that the Republicans in the audience were actually responding with support for Clinton when it was further announced that he was in stable condition and was alright.

It’s amazing to watch the media make up lies about Republican crowds, while they ignore blatant acts of vitriol and hatred that are on display at just about every Democrat rally. From spitting on the Color Guards to physically attacking those they disagree with, the media ignores everything that might expose the democrats as anything less than tolerant and open-minded.
