Obama/Biden's Tax And Health Care Plans Show They Are Out Of Touch With The Needs Of America's Small Businesses

This Morning, Biden Attacked Small Business Owners, Saying 'I Don't Have Any Joe The Plumbers In My Neighborhood That Make $250,000 A Year And Are Worried.'

WASHINGTON, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is being issued by the Republican National Committee:

(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20080519/RNCLOGO )

Biden: "I don't have any Joe the plumbers in my neighborhood that make $250,000 a year and are worried. The Joe the plumbers in my neighborhood, the Joe the cops in my neighborhood, the Joe the grocery store owners in my neighborhood, they make like 98% of the small businesses, less than $250,000 a year." (NBC's "Today Show," 10/16/08)

JOE KNOWS: Obama's Income Tax Increase Would Raise Taxes On Hundreds Of Thousands Of Small Businesses:

FactCheck.org: "McCain Is Right About One Thing. Many Small-Business Owners Would Indeed See Their Taxes Go Up If Obama Is Elected And Raises The Top Income-Tax Rates." ("McCain's Small-Business Bunk," www.factcheck.org, 7/14/08)

Two-Thirds Of Small Business Income Would Be Subject To Obama's Significantly Higher Tax Rates. "The conservative argument (and that of the John McCain campaign) is that Obama's stated plan to raise taxes on households making $250,000 or more in income is a tax increase on small business. The simple answer to this dilemma can be found in the IRS Statistics of Income Bulletin (Table 1.4, for those who are interested). So what do the data say?

McCain should give a speech pointing out that if the working man or woman doesnt tow the Obama left wing line they get attacked by Obama and his political henchmen.

Also discuss Biden’s $3 million 4 acre lakefront home where the only plumbers are teh hired help and Biden Obama plan to make sure they never own their own business.

We now see the democrats’ chosen enemy, not Al Queda, not even Wall Street - it’s the working men and women of America.

It’s about GROSS earnings for the entire business he wants to purchase, Joe. That $250,000 (that isn’t all profit and isn’t all his) puts him in your target sight, Joe.

Numbnut. The hair plugs are ticklink what’s left of your brain.

Joe better hope he doesn't have anything embarrasing in his past, because the MSM will be delving into everything he's ever done to try and discredit him. "Joe had DUI in 1984", "Joe divorced, here's why:", "Joe went to fertility clinic", "Joe the plummer, LIAR!" etc.

The MSM want us all to know that we'll pay a terrible price for questioning The One.

...$250,000 or more in income...

Am I mistaken in stating that this is not what Joe P. currently makes, but what HE MIGHT MAKE IF HE BOUGHT the company he is contemplating purchasing.

Another view - “small business” as defined by the Small Business Adminstration:

SBA has established a size standard for most industries in the U.S. economy. The most common size standards are as follow:

500 employees for most manufacturing and mining industries
100 employees for all wholesale trade industries
$7.0 million for most retail and service industries
$33.5 million for most general & heavy construction industries
$14.0 million for all special trade contractors
$0.75 million for most agricultural industries

Two-Thirds Of Small Business Income Would Be Subject To Obama’s Significantly Higher Tax Rates. “The conservative argument (and that of the John McCain campaign) is that Obama’s stated plan to raise taxes on households making $250,000 or more in income is a tax increase on small business. The simple answer to this dilemma can be found in the IRS Statistics of Income Bulletin (Table 1.4, for those who are interested). So what do the data say? In 2006 (the latest year available), $706 billion of such income was reported to the Internal Revenue Service. Of this, about half was reported by households in the top marginal income tax rate. Interestingly, two-thirds of this income was reported by households making $250,000 per year or more — the very same households that Obama wants to increase taxes on. The Obama campaign maintains that the number of small-business owners is what’s important. Economists know what matters is the tax rate that’s applied to the bulk of small-business income. Make no mistake about it: Obama’s plan to raise taxes on households making more than $250,000 will raise taxes on most small-business profits in America.” (Grover G. Norquist, Op-Ed, “An Argument Against Obama’s Tax Plan,” The Politico, 7/11/08)

Obama said that under his proposal taxes on any revenue from $250,000 on down would stay the same, but that amounts above that level would be subject to a 39 percent tax, instead of the current 36 percent rate.

Really? Cause I thought he said : "It's not that I want to punish your success, I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success too...I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

Biden’s comments put his ignorance of economics on display. Joe isn’t earning 250K, he’s looking to purchase a business that MAKES 250K.

Yep .. he said to Diane Sawyers this am that he doesn’t make anything near that now .. but he wants to live the American Dream that one day he can buy the business and make that much. IF he can achieve his dream, he doesn’t want to turn over his blood and sweat money to Obama.

"Taxpayers in the top 5 percent of adjusted gross income reported adjusted gross income of at least $145,283. This group accounted for 35.7 percent of all adjusted gross income reported and 59.7 percent of total income tax."

http://www.irs.treas.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=179493,00.html

Simply put, Obama's claim that he's giving a tax break to 95% and increasing it on the 5% of top wage earners and that they make over 250K is just not evidenced in reality.  If he's going after the top 5%, he's going after people making 145K not 250K.

“...they make like 98% of the small businesses, less than $250,000 a year.”

And that’s just how we like it. Any more and they might get uppity, even hire accountants to find ways of reducing taxes. Small and defenseless, our kind of working Americans.

That said, I truly doubt there are any plumbers, cops or small grocery store owners in Joe Biden’s multimillion-plus dollar mansion neighborhood. Plumbers and cops are people the servants call when they’re needed.

During the promaries he said in the debates that those people making 100k or less would not have their taxes raised. For those making 250k or more their taxes would be raised. He didn’t say anything about those in the middle 100k to 250k and has retooled his rhetoric to say that 95% would have their taxes reduced. BS! Those of us between 100k and 250k like Joe the plumber are going to get it right in the buttcrack!

I seriously doubt that anyone in Biden's mulit-million dollar neighborhood makes less than a quarter mil. But the real issue here is how many of the entrepreneurs in said neighborhood make less than $250K.

Biden’s comments make it clear that anybody with wealth and power have no interest in allowing others to have it or share it with anybody not annointed or related by blood.

There is a reason all those Congressional scum have relatives in lobby houses and start “businesses” in DC. It’s to steal out money and keep it in their circle.

Ok, all of you, take your income to $249999.00 no more. Take your tax cut, do not hire anyone.

Then they will probably punish you for not making that one dollar more, claim you did that on purpose and fine you.

Actually I did just that when I sold real estate when Clinton raised the taxes and made them retro. I simply scaled down my sales so as not to go over. Sold less, bottom lined at the same. Simple.
