We’ve already seen the fascist tactics of 0bama, and he’s not even in power.

His supporters are voluntary brownshirts, and if he gets the force of gov’t behind him, we’ll have no legal recourse.

If you’re alarmist, so am I.

This is the first election where I thought there was a huge difference in who is elected.

A socialist in the WH, with a socialist led Congress, and the potential of 2 more socialist appointments to the SC. An Obama presidency will result in profound fundamental changes to the US. I don’t see it as good, but it appears at least 1/2 of America disagrees.

Well, if it’s any consolation, countries like Italy, France, Sweden and Germany have elected communists and socialists, and have come out of it without completely being destroyed. Not to mention Eastern Europe, which had to live under Soviet rule for 40+ years. Hopefully, we can survive this, but it will be bad. I mourn the loss of our constitution, our national identity and our economic system, all the best things that the mind of man can devise.

Get all your money together in personal safes and sit it out. Start earning money off the books or bartering services with friends. Hell you can donate 10,000 a year to others without tax issues arising now. If they can’t tax it they can’t take it.

I hope they suffer.

Personally I believe McCain still has a decent shot at winning. He’s just got to hammer and hammer and hammer him on the economy and his socialist plan.

I think he also needs to put ads out saying that if Obama wins, Pelosi gets whatever she wants. And just scare the frickin’ hell out of people with this.

You’re not an alarmist. This is real. As the Dems’ policies tank our economy they will for years continue to blame their failures on Bush’s economic policies and insist that they just need more time to solve the problems. All the while the Dems will insist that more and more control over the economy is necessary to solve the economic problems until one day the U.S. is an out-and-out socialist state. I believe this is planned.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Exactly! Cut out the middle man, aka socialism, and let's get on with the communism we are aiming for.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."
-Norman Thomas, six-time Socialist Party presidential candidate and one of the founders of the ACLU.

"I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and sole control of those who produced the wealth: communism is the goal."
- Roger Baldwin, founder of the ACLU

"Democracy is indispensable to socialism."
"The goal of socialism is communism."

-Vladimir Lenin

Personally, I'm in favor of democracy, which means that the central institutions of society have to be under popular control.
Now, under capitalism, we can't have democracy by definition.
Capitalism is a system in which the central institutions of society are in principle under autocratic control.

-Noam Chomsky

Then you were not paying attention in 2004!
Admittedly, 2008 is worse by comparison.

I’m in the battleground of Ohio. McCain has been running those ads. It shows Reid, then Pelosi, saying they’ve already promised to raise your taxes, who’ll stop them?

Then a shot of McCain.

This is a great thread about a book from 1938 that fits so much of today. Both Obama and FDR have/had that cult of personality. And if Obama gets in - a VERY receptive congress.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/929392/posts

Here’s an excerpt dealing with FDR’s dictatorship style:

Such is the form of the American government. The idea was that it should be a government of law, not a government of men.

In the special session called by the President to launch the New Deal the Congress for the first time was under the spell of executive leadership and embraced the leadership principle. It did not write the New Deal laws. It received them from the White House, went through the motions of passing them, engrossed them, and sent them back to the President. That was called the rubber stamp Congress. So long as it was content to keep that role everything was lovely. In the book On Our Way the President wrote: “In the early hours of June sixteenth, the Congress adjourned. I am happy once more to pay tribute to the members of the Senate and House of Representatives of both parties who so generously and loyally co-operated with me in the solution of our joint problems.”

Loyalty of the law-making power to the executive power was one of the dangers the political fathers foretold.

....... In the next regular session of Congress the spell began to break, and ever since, with increasing anxiety, it has been running after the power and prestige it surrendered. But the minute it began to do that all the New Deal’s power of propaganda was turned against it, in derision, belittlement, and defamation; and in every struggle over principle it was adroitly maneuvered into the position of seeming to stand against the people for wrong reasons, on mere pretense of principle. The attack upon Congress was designed both to undermine the parliamentary principle and to circumscribe the political rights of people.

....... Over a large part of the world today democracy has been long dead. Political processes which once assured the common man some degree of genuine participation in the decisions of his government have been superseded by a form of rule which we know as the totalitarian state. The essence of totalitarianism is the destruction of the parliamentary or legislative branch of government. The issue simply stated is whether the Congress of the United States shall be the reality or the relic of American democracy.”

No one can have forgotten the bitterness of the struggle over the New Deal’s attempt to pack the Supreme Court after it had killed the Blue Eagle. Nor can anyone who saw it forget the spectacle of C.I.O. strikers, massed in Cadillac Square, Detroit, intoning with groans the slogan prepared by New Deal propagandists: “Nine old men. Nine old men.” That was collaboration.

At this point the President suffered his first serious defeat. The Congress would not pass his court-packing law. It did not dare to EBB it. Public opinion was too much aroused. Nevertheless, it was possible two years later for the President to boast that he had won. Vacancies on the bench caused by death and retirement enabled him to fill it up with justices who were New-Deal minded, and so at last he did capture the judicial power.

Well, if it’s any consolation, countries like Italy, France, Sweden and Germany have elected communists and socialists, and have come out of it without completely being destroyed.

But they didn't have the ruling elite (Ayers, Wright, Michelle, et al) who are so filled with hatred and contempt for the regular people. At best, they have contempt for the average American; and worse, they justify their hate, and use it to excuse the worst type of behavior on their part. It's not going to be the nicey-nice Swedish style type of socialism; it's going to be the nasty, kill and destroy anyone who dares disagree with the glorious revolution type.

Yah, but the sad bottom line datum is that the Marxist mole operation is working and Freepers might ask themselves how it came to be that conservatives didn’t likewise move their chess pieces into the media, academia and government in a manner that could achieve victory?

Get it into your head that we are on the verge of a Fabian (elected) socialist takeover. Now, what failures of ours can we list? Is there a tragic flaw in the conservative character or were we just asleep at the wheel? Did the 21st century electronic laterally connected technological paradigm sucker punch us by putting into illuminated relief the innate conservative contradiction between the alienation of self-interest vs. the social requirements of the Christian ideals of empathy?

Probably won’t find many Mother Theresas in the board room of AIG. Our nation was founded on Christian principles, not the requirements of elitism, insane wealth accumulation as a spiritual value or a stubborn refusal to perceive the ocean of needless human wretchedness on the other side of your monitor screen. Let me tell you, wretchedness doesn’t play well on the six o:cock news or in my mental projection room.

Most of those countries have also been overrun by Islamic extremists due to the "diversity" that socialists demand.

On election day 2004 the make up of congress was:
100 -- 48-D 51-R 1-I -&— 435 -- 205-D 229-R

51 sInators is only a majority if they are 51 RATs.
24 is not much of a majority when 40+ republicans were part of the centrist coalition, aka RAT Lite. They would have done nothing to stop j Effin.

I don’t think Kerry hates America as it is.

LOL! j Effin committed treason in 1971 and should have swung from a rope instead of becoming filthy rich on the backs of the US taxpayers.

j Effin is an old commie. Of course he hates America.

I mean I can understand why you might do it, I just don’t understand openly declaring it to the other side.

I agree it will be horrible if the socialists take over. It will be the end of Constitutional government, if they have their say. They will use ACORN and Motor Voter and illegal aliens and dead people and pliant new justices on the Supreme Court, and conservatives will not even be close in the next election. It will take a restoration movement outside of those processes to reinstate free market capitalism. Or a reaction so strong that the socialists allow themselves to be defeated instead of becoming more repressive. That typically doesn’t happen with socialists.
