The U.S. Supreme Court rules with Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, granting her a stay to a temporary restraining order from a federal appeals court that ordered her to provide a system for implementing voter fraud prevention methods.
The U.S. Supreme Court agreed with Democratic Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, granting her a stay on Friday to a decision from a lower court that ordered her to provide a system for implementing voter fraud prevention methods.
The decision by the full court repudiates the lower court's ruling siding with the Ohio Republican Party and ordering Brunner to verify records of about 200,000 of 666,000 new voters this year whose driver's license and Social Security records don't match information in other government databases.
In an unsigned order, the high court ruled that it could not say whether Ohio was properly enforcing the Help America Vote Act. However, it said the Ohio GOP doesn't have the standing to file the suit.
"They didn't deal with the merits of the case," said Ohio GOP Chairman Bob Bennett. "What they dealt with was a technicality on whether we had standing or not to bring the action."
Just DAMN.
All the Supremes, or just Stevens, I wonder?
It is the Bizarro World.
The Supreme Court has turned to the Dark Side
The fix is in. Keep your powder dry!
That’s OK. What’s another 200,000 fraudulent votes?
hill clinton forum says that all the court rejected it.
Stevens was the Supreme Court justice who would be handling the appeal. Still to be seen is whether the full court will look at it.
No idea I am trying to get the skinny, might mean simply that the SCOTUS refused to hear it I don’t know yet.
No surprise. I’d like to hear their reasoning, though.
The full court ruled.
I could have sworn that I read yesterday morning Stevens rejected it.
Stevens was the only one deciding on this.
It’s a Drudge headline too.
The lock-step march of political bias continues. Imagine our country if Obama wins and gets total control of our House and Senate. God help us.
Communism rules in Amerika!
Rejected what? To take the case?
My apologies. It seems to have been a full court decision, not just Stevens.
Well, when the soap box, the jury box and the ballot box are no longer effective in saving America and our Constitution, that leaves only one box left...
Now they will register hundreds of thousands more. Our voting system could go down the tubes because of this decision. Republicans best get on the ball and vote during this election.
IS IT PITCHFORK TIME YET ! ?
If God allows this to happen, it's going to be Smith & Wesson help us
Unless it infuriates enough people to vote McCain.....I still think McCain will win the election. In the demoncrat mind, it is all about racism. Heaven forbid, if they would have it any other way.
We lived the best years of it.
Now it's time for the typical fascism of the human condition.
What the hell!!??!!
WHAT? This has to be a hoax.
Well, let’s make sure the angry voters outnumber the frauds at the polls.
Pretty sure their reasoning was the same as the lower court that said it was unreasonable to expect the state to get a new computer system up and running before election day in time to stop the massive fraud underway.
Oops, I mean they said it was unreasonable to expect the state to get a new computer system up and running before election day, and that the existing system would do.
So the bottom line is that massive voter fraud in Ohio (and, a dozen other states) will be aided and abetted by the computer system of the state of Ohio (and of a dozen other states, apparently).
Horsewhip the traitors. I guessing one Mister Kennedy was the key vote. I hope Obama gives his house to some homeless bums.
Boy wonder just jumped 10% in the polls in Ohio.
“Supreme Ct Sides w/Democratic Official....”
~~~~~
Sure, whaddaya ‘spect?
Egg in yer beer????
My Beretta is locked and loaded.
If they refused to hear it, the lower court decision would stand.
I read on Human Events a story about protecting the voting process, and the main decision was written by Stevens [several years ago] and Ashcroft praised his decision.
Something seems wrong with this headline.
If they agreed to hear it, there wouldn’t be a decision this soon. The justice that it goes to just decides whether they will hear it or not. Not means the lower court decision stands.
It is very possible the media person who wrote this doesn’t understand legalese.
from the yahoo :”Brunner said the GOP is trying to disenfranchise voters”.
i agree, the ones who aren’t supposed to be allowed to vote.
that’s who SHOULD BE DISENFRANCHISED.
Nope, the full court ruled.
So... let me get this straight, the Supreme Court rules RAT voter fraud is A-OK?!
And what, in any sane society, could possibly be wrong with verifying that people who are registering to vote are who they say they are, and are actually eligible to vote? What kind of inverted, insane, upside-down non-logic can even the brain-dead RATS make to justify this? — Oh, wait. I guess they don’t have to justify ANYTHING, as long as they have their plants in the judicial system to shrug and say: “What’s the problem, dude?” and their friends in the MSM to report it any way they’re ordered.
We really, really, REALLY need to take our country back.
According to Megyn Kelly on FOX....Just Stevens....who has jurisdiction in that district.
It is now just a matter of time! Our Country died today!
Sad...sad....sad!
Everyone needs to calm down. It looks like the Supremes only sided with her in giving her more time to be in compliance. Giving her a stay for 2 weeks to have the info to the local officials.
Damn. Just damn. Well, if handled right this will just fuel more anger against judicial activism. We can channel this to our favor folks.
Anger against this has been seething.
Perhaps a Hockey Mom, a Plumber and ACORN can spell Victory for McCain.
I bet it was just Stevens...
Ohio goes blue...this is just about the final nail in the McCain/Palin catastrophe. Without Ohio...you do not win the White House.
No spin to this. 200,000 is a magic number...just enough to make sure Republicans can’t win.
Just Stevens, right?
That’s what I thought. Meaning that the Fed Appeals ruling stands.
I didn’t think that they could just rule and that’s it.
I thought they had to have arguments in front of them.
who can override the judge decision? The judge is NOT by the book and wondering how many who are victims out there by this judge? This person is not worth having at the court house and get rid of this judge person NOW!!
