The U.S. Supreme Court rules with Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, granting her a stay to a temporary restraining order from a federal appeals court that ordered her to provide a system for implementing voter fraud prevention methods.

The U.S. Supreme Court agreed with Democratic Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, granting her a stay on Friday to a decision from a lower court that ordered her to provide a system for implementing voter fraud prevention methods.

The decision by the full court repudiates the lower court's ruling siding with the Ohio Republican Party and ordering Brunner to verify records of about 200,000 of 666,000 new voters this year whose driver's license and Social Security records don't match information in other government databases.

In an unsigned order, the high court ruled that it could not say whether Ohio was properly enforcing the Help America Vote Act. However, it said the Ohio GOP doesn't have the standing to file the suit.

"They didn't deal with the merits of the case," said Ohio GOP Chairman Bob Bennett. "What they dealt with was a technicality on whether we had standing or not to bring the action."

Stevens was the Supreme Court justice who would be handling the appeal. Still to be seen is whether the full court will look at it.

Now they will register hundreds of thousands more. Our voting system could go down the tubes because of this decision. Republicans best get on the ball and vote during this election.

Pretty sure their reasoning was the same as the lower court that said it was unreasonable to expect the state to get a new computer system up and running before election day in time to stop the massive fraud underway.

Oops, I mean they said it was unreasonable to expect the state to get a new computer system up and running before election day, and that the existing system would do.

So the bottom line is that massive voter fraud in Ohio (and, a dozen other states) will be aided and abetted by the computer system of the state of Ohio (and of a dozen other states, apparently).

If they refused to hear it, the lower court decision would stand.

I read on Human Events a story about protecting the voting process, and the main decision was written by Stevens [several years ago] and Ashcroft praised his decision.

Something seems wrong with this headline.

If they agreed to hear it, there wouldn’t be a decision this soon. The justice that it goes to just decides whether they will hear it or not. Not means the lower court decision stands.

It is very possible the media person who wrote this doesn’t understand legalese.

from the yahoo :”Brunner said the GOP is trying to disenfranchise voters”.

i agree, the ones who aren’t supposed to be allowed to vote.
that’s who SHOULD BE DISENFRANCHISED.

So... let me get this straight, the Supreme Court rules RAT voter fraud is A-OK?!

And what, in any sane society, could possibly be wrong with verifying that people who are registering to vote are who they say they are, and are actually eligible to vote? What kind of inverted, insane, upside-down non-logic can even the brain-dead RATS make to justify this? — Oh, wait. I guess they don’t have to justify ANYTHING, as long as they have their plants in the judicial system to shrug and say: “What’s the problem, dude?” and their friends in the MSM to report it any way they’re ordered.

We really, really, REALLY need to take our country back.

This is ridiculous. You have to have more identification to get welfare than you do to register to vote. Our elections now mean nothing because they are not “one man, one vote,” as was intended. The unscrupulous now have tacit approval to do whatever the heck they want and the highest court in the land can go to hell.

Everyone needs to calm down. It looks like the Supremes only sided with her in giving her more time to be in compliance. Giving her a stay for 2 weeks to have the info to the local officials.

No spin to this. 200,000 is a magic number...just enough to make sure Republicans can’t win.

That’s what I thought. Meaning that the Fed Appeals ruling stands.

I didn’t think that they could just rule and that’s it.
I thought they had to have arguments in front of them.
