Democrats Draw Crowd of 100,000

In Garment District, Mondale Dresses Down 'Radical Preachers'

NEW YORK, Nov. 1 -- In their last joint appearance before Election Day, Walter F. Mondale and Geraldine A. Ferraro drew an estimated 100,000 supporters to a Garment District rally where the Democratic candidates denounced the "radical preachers" and "extremists who control the Republican Party."

Great Post!

Thought maybe Obie Kinobi from KRYPTON had pulled that olde bag of wind Mondale and the Demorat Beauty Queen Gerri for one last try at saving his pompous Bass!
Why haven’t any reporters asked him how much he enjoyed his IRANIAN CAVIAR? At the same time, the Reporters could ask him if its TRUE that he refuses to use anything except genuine IRANIAN PRAYER RUGS AND FIGS?

Not that hard to get 100,000 down to the riverfront in St. Louis at all. Their July Fourth festival draws 2,000,000 or more for several days running.

Not sure McCain/Palin would draw. St. Louis City is heavily demo so the crowds would have to be from the suburbs.

You do realize this was a MONDALE FERRARO rally lo these many decades ago?

Yup. That's why I quoted the Talking Heads lyrics from "Once in a Lifetime". It seemed apropos.

"Same as it ever was... same as it ever was... same as it ever was"

That the MSM’s favorite number for Liberal Rallies is 100,000, no matter the year, or the candidate. They think we’ll crawl in a hole and bawl if that many people are going to vote Dem.

Doesn’t say how many of the 100,000 at the current Obama rally were for McCain/Palin.

To start with, good find on the article. Nice bit of old news. Secondly, I don't believe Bozo drew 100,000 people unless he had a band playing and furnished free beer. The media lies about Bozo's numbers and always deflates Sarah's and McCain's, especially Sarah's since she is outdrawing everyone. The big difference too is that Sarah does it day, after day, after day. Bozo gets one good day and the media plays it up.

Consistency counts for more than one big draw, and as I said, I think the media pumped up the numbers the way they always do.

I saw this on t.v. and thought, oh how convenient. Trolls on our conservative websites are picking up on the fact that their rally numbers pale in comparison with ours. So what do they do? Do’nt ya’ll think this is just a little wierd? I do. It was set up. Those people aren’t predominatly from MO, hell no. This was set up, it’s fake.

I think another big part of it is, that even though I’m a conservative and heard that Bill Clinton was swinging through my neck of the woods, I went down there to see if I could catch a glimpse of him. It wasn’t an election year, but dang, there were a lot of people, and he did actually stop the limo along the hi-way and got out and shook hands. I shook his hand just for the hell of it.

My other conservative friend asked me, “why’d you do that?”

“Well,” I said, “if you knew the devil was coming to town, wouldn’t you want to see what he looked like in person?”

Do you know that when I was a Senior in H.S., Mondale came to my hometown in Ga. during his campaign? Students were FORCED to go see him campaign during school hours. At the time we were glad to be skipping classes, but looking back, I see things differently.

I realize the talking heads have been reporting that 100,000 attended Obama's rally in St. Louis, but I don't believe it. I wasn't there; I am from eastern Missouri and have been to the Gateway Arch grounds on several occasions.

With the exception of one picture, all the shots I saw were close-ups of him and the people on stage behind him. The applause and cheers were muted and subdued, not nearly as loud or enthusiastic as one would expect from 100,000 people. The one picture supposedly of the crowd appeared to be a wide-angle view from the side of the Arch Grounds. (In the photo the arch looked distorted, and the "crowd" appeared to me to be a mirrored image.)

Mondull and Ferraro drew 100K in New York City? Did them a lot of good. Reagan won New York State.

Obama has been put to shame at the numbers of people going to the McCain/Palin rallies.

So what does “the One” do, he heads to an area, on a Saturday, that people are going to be in large numbers anyway, and where people do not have to go out of their way to get tickets for an Obama event.

In other news, A bomb scare today in Colorado Springs which led to cordoning off an area where the Republican headquarters is located. The suspicious package was left where Obama supporters have held a very recent protest. The Republican office is now in the process of handing out tickets for a Palin rally to be held on Monday.

An attempt to suppress the numbers of people going to the rally?

Maybe the point was to confuse and annoy people who refuse to read.

Or think Mondale is running.

Of course, it works both ways. I’ve been saying the same thing about the Palin’s crowds. Enthusiasm within the “choir” does not equate to election day returns.

Except here there was no real effort to see Obama. Obama went to them where they would be on a Saturday. No tickets except maybe for the people sitting close "The One" in St. Louis.
