Associated Press

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- As governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin has had an at-times testy relationship with black leaders in her state.

They say they've been ignored in their eforts to get more minorities hired in her administration.

Now, as the presidential election nears, Alaska's black leaders say they're not surprised to see the Republican vice-presidential nominee at the center of the controversy over injecting the race issue into the campaign. Palin has repeatedly insisted that Barack Obama's former preacher, the inflammatory Rev. Jeremiah Wright, is a legitimate issue even though John McCain himself has said it's out of bounds.

Many of Palin's black constituents say they're disgusted with the campaign's racial overtones.

I never thought that there were more than a handful of blacks in Alaska, but I was told that black Americans comprise 10% of the population of Fairbanks.

How many black people can there be in Alaska?

This is just so much BS. When they have nothing left, they pull the ol’ race card. You’d think people would wise up to this vicious method. Not yet, it looks like!

All my life, I’ve felt “ignored” by Alaska’s minorities. You don’t hear me whining about it. These freeloaders need to get a job AND A LIFE!

Palin married an Eskimo, for goodness sake.

Palin has the highest approval rating of all 50 USA Governors at 80%, including a 75% approval rating from Alaskan democrats.

Absolutely pathetic lies from the Ass. Press propaganda machine.

Well then, this explains why Sarah only has an 85 percent approval rate.

Just who are these endlessly kvetching “minorities”? No mention of Gov. Palin’s husband, who is a Native American. Instead, we hear of constant carping by some aggrieved minister that the state doesn’t do enough for him; why doesn’t he do for himself and his community like the rest of us do? The real “minority” in Alaska is from those NOT in the 87 percent of Alaskans who approve of Governor Palin’s performance — won’t see THAT in the AP article, will we?

It's not the color of his skin. It's the color of his politics. This is who he reminds me of

Like I said, color of politics, not skin.

Many of Palin's black constituents say they're disgusted with the campaign's racial overtones.

How many? There are less than 25,000 blacks living in Alaska. That is less than 13 out of 20,000 black persons living in this country.

Blacks really need to get the chips off their shoulders.

They really need to stop thinking that they should have a personal experience with an elected official who is hopefully doing the job that the citizens hired them to do.

I've never had a personal experience with any elected official. I merely hope s/he would do the job I help to hire him/her to do... sheesh !!

Get off the cross... Somebody needs the wood, people !!!

While we are busy being racist, don’t forget, Osamabama’s buddy is a WHITE GUY named Bill Ayers. So no, Obami doesn’t let race get in the road, anytime he can do hang time with a terrorist, he’ll be there.
