Alaska's minorities feel ignored by Palin
AP ^

"It's really been like you're going to a Ku Klux Klan rally," said Javis Odom, an Anchorage minister. "Gov. Palin is really showing her true colors on the national stage.".....

. ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Alaska's black leaders say they're not surprised to see Gov. Sarah Palin at the center of the controversy over injecting the race issue into the presidential campaign.

Palin, Republican John McCain's running mate, has repeatedly insisted that Barack Obama's former preacher, the inflammatory Rev. Jeremiah Wright, is a legitimate issue even though McCain himself has said it's out of bounds.

"She has no sensitivity to minorities," said the Rev. Alonzo Patterson, a Baptist minister and president of the Alaska Black Leadership Conference. "She's really inciting a lot of African-Americans to get out and vote."

Among Palin's 417 appointments or reappointments to boards and commissions since taking office in December 2006, 240 have voluntarily identified their ethnicity. Eight are black, 49 Alaska Native, six Asian or Pacific Islander and one is Hispanic.

I have never heard any member of any minority group say he felt he and his group had received “enough attention”.

Its about race to the Left. They don't see human beings as well... just human beings!

I wonder how Black Baptists would feel about the Left if their beliefs (theoretically identical to those of white Baptists) were under attack?

Something tells me when the teaching that homosexuality is forbidden is outlawed as a "hate crime" Black churches will be exempt.

I'm white and my governor is white: Tim Kaine "The Eyebrow". He has not done diddly-squat for me. He doesn't even know me. I receive absolutely zero benefit from his being in office as governor of Virginia. Should I 'feel' ignored or neglected by him?

These freakin people want local, state and Federal government to feel them, to pay attention to their every whine, complaint, runny nose, cough and sniffle! What happened to individualism and people taking care of themselves. I have never had a governor in my life pay attention to me or even take notice! I wish, just wish these freakin whiny minorities would get over themselves. Go back to the country of your origin and whine to your honorable, benevolent dictator to pay attention to you. See how that works out for you. When Obama the Messiah takes over, then he will pay attention to you! Just like that ex-Ruskie KGB says about "useful idiots" they will all be put up against the wall and shot. Whine and complain and you'll be the first useful idiot to go...

I’m terribly ignored by my Congessmoron Pete Stark, I haven’t received any federal government handouts ever. And the Democrats in Sacramento, they ignore me too. Where is my state government money handout.

Oh that’s right, I pay taxes so I guess my standing in life is to spread my wealth.

Most people in the world feel grateful to be ignored by their government (including this one). It’s only the velvet diapered infants of Affirmative Action who howl when the nanny state ignores them for a moment.

I'm sorry...wait where am I? The 1900’s? The 1800’s? Oh, it's 2008, sorry thought I was in a time warp. Obama has set this Country back 100 years on race. Shame on him and this “pastor”. Sick to my stomach of this.

AP must be scrapping the bottom of the barrel for reporters these days - they must be hiring them from Columbia...

The “University,” that is, not the country; Columbian nationals could do a much better job.
