I really wish he would! I believe Bush has done a lot of damage to the party - he's done a lot of good for the country, but he's been a disappointment to me in the last 4 years as president. I'm not quite sure what to think of him, but overall, I do not have a favorable opinion of him or his father. They are liberals in conservative clothing, I think.
But, if he would PLEASE endorse Obama - it would do a lot to redeem himself in my eyes. It would KILL the liberals!!!

Mr. Powell, You have just confirmed that you are a racist -choosing a candidate based on the color of his/her skin, and nothing more than an Afirmative Action clown yourself. You “endorse” a neo-Marxist amateur fool for president - this clearly goes against everything you allegedly “stood” for. What this now does, though, is to open up the Pandora’s box of us “whiteys” voting for McCain/Palin besed soley on their race. Oh, one last thing, McCain/Palin campaign, Jerry Wright can now be used - just remember what Geraldine Ferraro said “The only reason Obama is where he is is because he’s black.” Go get ‘em! But why talk of a new party two weeks before the election it seems to me that’s designed to split Republicans and allow Obama to win.
After this election the question of RINOism can be dealt with more effectively and appropriately.
The primaries in 2010 should be interesting and here in PA I see that its time for Arlen Specter to leave.
What a sad fellow. He gave virtually all the talking points of the Obama campaign. Then he is asked if he is a “Republican”, he said yes. That’s all you need to hear. Yes, you are a Republican.....but you never were a conservative.

If Obama wins Powell gets credit from the new administration and is better positioned to build his business and his cocktail party circuit status.
If Obama loses the Dems will be reeling with remorse for trying to win with a far-left candidate like Obama and will start looking for moderates to run for President in four years. Who is more moderate than the black Army general that everyone thought was a Republican?

No Powell does appear to want a job on the “winning” team.

Colin Powell is a nobody unless you are over 50 years old. And like Bill Clinton, he just looks old now. Yesterday’s news. Aging rock star. He is a media darling not the darling of main street.
