Maybe the talk of a McCain endorsement was planted to mislead people.

Just like the Dems who are not responsible for their vote on the Iraq war, he is no longer responsible because he was lied to by the Bush Admin, too. Its just not his fault.

He thinks that this now totally redeems himself in everyone’s eyes.

“....but it would seem race has played a crucial role in this.”....

Yes. It seems that, to a large, LARGE portion of American blacks, that IS all that matters. While it, unfortunately, doesn’t surprise me, it greatly disappoints me. Even some of the few blacks who thought of themselves as ‘conservative’ are finding that the color of the candidate’s skin is more important than the content of their policy and character.

I’m not surprised that Powell has endorsed Barry. I’ve felt for a LONG time that his reputation was greatly overrated.

Powell, an affirmative action benefactor, is a wus. Remember Gulf War One, when we were kicking Iraq @$$, Powell got cold feet and counciled Bush 1 to stop the operation. We could have won quick and easy at the time, but we let Hussein off the hook. Powell is supporting Obama for one reason...blackness. This is akin to a Black South African takeover and Obama is planting the seeds for revoultion.

Brokaw is pointing out Powell’s contradictions and inconsistencies with Obama’s platform. Obama was vehemently opposed to the premise of the war, while Powell was one of the biggest cheerleaders. Powell is a hollow man who got to the top in a Bush 41 Administration as a yes man. He even tried to deflect charges of racism by saying it took this long to decide - which is a joke. He’s been advising the Obama campaign all along - he made his choice based on race from the git-go.

A traitor. I have lost all respect for this sell out. I’ll be interested to hear why he is endorsing a candidate that wants to end a war, he played a crucial war in starting.

Agreed. This is TWICE! Powell was instrumental stopping the beatdown of Sadaam's forces in '91, causing us to have to go back. He was a big part of making the case for the need to go back, and now wants us to retreat again. He just cannot seem to get enough of seeing the U.S. military take casualties only to retreat.

A traitor indeed.

exactly.

suppose McCain’s campaign was birthed in the living room of Timothy McVeigh?

America wouldn’t care?

Powell - is a - fool.

In Nazi Germany - Hitler had many such fools on “his side”.

So I guess now, If pelosi and bambi try to prosecute Bush for the Iraq war, they’ll have to prosecute Powell too, after all, he;s the one they say lied his face off at the UN, it seems they have a problem here.

McCain should be saying right now, well Obama thinks the Iraq war was a mistake and is now taking advice from the man who led the charge at the UN and did most of the legwork, now thats a problem for Obama.

This has been the most racially polarizing election in our lifetimes, and it's all because that's how the Democrats and Obambi want it.

Ever wonder why the MSM NEVER refers to Obama as half-white only African-American?

This election IS about race now. They have made it so. It's okay to be a black racist so it must now be okay to be a white racist. Good. Let's all vote for McCain because he's white.

Stormin Nomran should come out for McCain. He did a lot of campaigning for GW.

Overall, I think Americans are more fond of him and Tommy Franks.

Unfortunately, I believe this election has pushed the improvement made in race relations back 60 years.

With different time frames, 20, 30...50 years, I've heard this same lament here at FR since we first became aware of rev. Wright. The naivete of people as to what the state of race relations were really like before Obama is astounding. Folks who thought, or think, that Wright et al are an anomaly had (have) their heads where the sun don't shine!

Maybe George Bush should endorse 0bama too.

I was just thinking yesterday about that. I wouldn't be surprised if Bush did endorse him - or at least tell us he would make a good president. But wouldn't that just make a liberal's head EXPLODE? I would love to see them trying to justify that in their heads! LOL!
