'Socialist,' 'Muslim' — Ugly reception for Obama (North Carolina Folks Slam Obama's Visit)
Politico ^ | Oct 19th | By POLITICO STAFF

Barack Obama's stop at Cape Fear BBQ and Chicken in Fayetteville, N.C. The trip, according to a pool report, offered “some powerful and at times ugly interaction.” Many patrons applauded as he walked into the diner, but Diane Fanning, 54, began yelling “Socialist, socialist, socialist — get out of here!” Fanning said she’d heard that former Secretary of State Colin Powell had endorsed Obama but said that “Colin Powell is a RINO, R-I-N-O, Republican In Name Only.” Later, Obama came to the long table where Fanning and other members of a local First Presbyterian church were gathered. He held out his hand to her and asked, “How are you, ma’am?” but she declined to shake his hand.

I had a discussion with an Obama supporter last Friday. He was not deterred by the word “socialist”. He actually thought it was a good thing. Obama, however socialist he may be does not want the media reporting that he is because it will turn off certain voters. Some, however, obviously like it.

I have a feeling that there will be very few if any more of these unscripted meetings with regular hard-working Americans. 0bama just can’t take the chance of another Joe the Plumber moment.

Personally I would not have shouted at him, I would have shaken his hand and would have been polite and civil to him (but I also would have left no doubt about who I was supporting and why if he would hear me out). That's the way I was raised and because I don't believe acting like the enemy.

But in comparison, this is no where near the level of hate, vitriol and bigotry as displayed by the other side. No supporters of Obama at this restaurant had racial slurs hurled at them, I did by protesters however at McCain's ABQ rally.

He would laugh it off, Joe the Plumber’s media destruction is harder to ignore.

Fanning asked Obama about a North American union, and Obama responded: “Well, you know, I am opposed to it if it were happening. But it doesn’t seem to be actually be happening. The truth of the matter is there is no plans. I’ve talked to a lot of people, including folks down in Texas. There’s no plan to create a common government between Mexico, U.S.

In an interview, Fanning said, “I still think he’s a closet Muslim.”

That’s the insult? Saying what she thinks? Get a life. If we are to the point where a citizen cannot voice a thought, we are in HUGE trouble.

Betty Waylett, 76, told Obama, “You’re doing a great job.” She...is a Republican but that she will vote for Obama because she likes the way he speaks and his manner.

Say it isn't so, Betty; you are too old to be this stupid!! That Diane Fanning, on the other hand...LOVE her! She might do well to hire personal security for the next few years, though.

McCain really should publicly answer Powell’s statement regarding the Muslim issue. After all, Powell brought it up. Is Obama a Muslim, Black Liberationist, Morman, Seventh Day Adventist, what? Americans deserve an answer before November 4th.

Maybe this is the tip of the iceberg that represents those of us who are simmering at the nasty use of the

Photobucket

I for one am sick of the superior smugness of the blacks and the liberals who are looking down their noses at anyone who doesn't kiss the feet of the "cool tool messiah" and I can guarantee you that I'm not the only one.

The media is going to blast this all over the country now, and it just may be that this and the treatment of Joe the Plumber could be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Here's an actual response I got from a post of mine at You Tube reminding people that a vote for Obama is a vote for socialism.

And that brings down the question...
What is wrong with socialism?
It is still capitalism and it is still liberal, combining the best of both worlds.

I wonder what school this person attended. Sometimes it just seems hopeless (trying to use logic to win an argument).

Incredibly, Politico (no clicks for them!) actually wrote:

Barack Obama's stop at Cape Fear BBQ and Chicken in Fayetteville, N.C., this afternoon underscored the continued resistance of some voters to his candidacy — and his identity. The trip, according to a pool report, offered “some powerful and at times ugly interaction.”

Yes, and we will "continue resistance" if necessary. Which, if some folks didn't catch the historical allusion, is sometimes necessary to keep freedom alive even in occupied countries:

Excerpt:

The resistance movement in Europe during World War Two played an important part in defeating Nazi Germany's military might. The resistance movement - Europe's secret armies or partisans - gathered intelligence for the Allies, destroyed communication lines, assisted escaped POW's and openly attacked the Germans once the retreats on both the western and eastern fronts had started. Their work was vital for both the Russian's and Allies but it was also extremely dangerous as any slips in security were ruthlessly exploited by the Gestapo. Resistance movements were found in all Nazi-occupied countries.

Ask them if they’re ok with collecting only 60% of their next paycheck while the remaining 40% goes to someone who they don’t know and someone who didn’t work to earn it.
