I was just in SW PA this weekend (Somerset, Ohiopyle and Fort Necessity). Not so many Obama signs as I thought. I even drove by an FOE and they did not have a sign up. I thought that remarkable. Lot's of McCain/Palin signs. We ate at a very nice diner in Somerset; the kids bemoaned the fact that we left the Ruby Tuesdays and the Cracker Barrell behind for a taste of local fare. We scored with good grub and friendly service at the Summit, which I would classify as a blue collar working class diner. I couldn't help, but overhear one lady discussing the election; she stated that she didn't exactly know what all the excitement was about Obama?
We were also in a tourist center in Ohiopyle and I did observe one fellow with an Obama cap and a few Obama bumper stickers. They were the worst drivers.
I think it's horrible that the media get to tag an entire region with a label of racism. In my experience the biggest racists and most intolerant people that I have ever encountered came from the liberal worldview.

My son was approached by union hacks at work tonight. They asked him to vote for Obama and my son said no thanks. They came back to him again to ask him to vote for Obama. The kid says no I’m voting for Mccain. He said they went apesh!t.
He’s teamsters and works for UPS in Harrisburg. If they are that angry they would gang up on him, there were 5 of them, it must be looking bad out there. They were out of staters. He ended up walking away. Thankfully his supervisor stood by until he left the area.It ain’t easy being a repub in a union shop.

Your observation was interesting as I just got off the phone with a retired member of the UAW. He related a call today from the union reminding him to vote. He said the caller did not ask him to vote for any specific candidate and explicitly stated that the union had not endorsed Obama.

Your son is brave. The union thugs are one demographic of the left that I simply do not mess with anymore. They are a nasty rabble.
