You see what Chris Matthews is doing in that interview. Matthews NEVER lets a guest talk as much as he lets Bachmann talks. It’s because Matthews thinks the more she talks, the more ‘extreme’ she’ll seem.

But in fact, the more she talks, the more Americans think to themselves ‘Ya exactly! Go get em’.

My only suggestion is that we stop calling these people “liberals”. Ayers and Wright are not liberals, they are leftists. I would say that's a big difference between liberals and leftists. Leftists are clearly anti-American, most liberals aren't (there are a number of other differences). Many Democrat voters are liberals, but nearly all the party apparatchiks are leftists. Pointing out the differences is the first step towards seperating the liberals from the Democratic Party.

I agree with that totally.  My first impression was that I'd never seen Matthews so quiet.  Matthews' attempt at conflating liberals with anti-Americans was a bit foolish.  She wasn't doing that.  She just said that three obviously anti-American people were associated with the most liberal senator in the country.

The term liberal has typically frightened Americans, which is a bit weird since all western democracies are considered liberal. However, we have a congress led by two scary liberals with an approval rating of around 9% and the country is on the verge of strengthening that position.

Go figure!

I was in DC last week and while at the Gaylord Hotel in National Harbor, MD spotted Matthews speaking to a room full of lefties. His big nauseating mouth was dicing McCain as usual. Felt like asking for a full refund from the hotel for not posting a warning sign before entering the area and hearing his goofy self.

I disagree. Liberals are anti-American. It is true that the meaning of words changes over time. Most people who call themselves conservatives would have been called liberals during the nineteenth century.

But those aren’t what liberals are today in America. Liberals today believe in government intervention in our economic and political lives. They want to ‘spread the wealth.’ as Obama said. They want to enforce the fairness doctrine on talk radio to limit the power of Rush and other conservative commentators.

There is no real difference between a liberal today and a socialist. They are all evil and will bring about the destruction of the America we know it if they ever take power.

It will be a great place when everything is completed. We thought we could stay there and walk the area to stores and a variety of places to eat. NOT! Most buildings are vacant so we spent most free time water taxing to Alexandria. LOVE Joe Thiesmans (sp??) . . . ate there 3 times.

In the newsclips I heard of this interview, she kept using the words “they need to do an expose’”, and I wish she’d said “in-depth, unbiased investigation”. To me, the word “expose’” has a less than professional connotation and brings to mind the tabloids.

Glad you enjoyed your stay in these parts. Old Town Alexandria is my fav part of this region. Other than parking, that is, so water taxi sounds very good.

It will be interesting to see how the Natl Harbor works out ... it will either raise the quality of the nearby environment in PG County, or all that investment goes down the tubes if it takes on a PG flavor. Of course, I remember when Old Town was a dilapidated area, so there’s hope.

I told the national RNC long ago that I only support individual candidates who are real conservatives so they get NO MONEY from me! The RNC threw Katherin Harris under the bus too or she would have been elected here in FL.
