Without going into too long an explanation, for which I have on many occasions, I have to disagree on the part about the Democrats not wanting to destroy the GOP (or more to the point, the left wing). The left wing has completely hijacked the Democrat party (virtually all moderates and Conservatives no longer exist — there was a sizeable minority presence PRIOR to the Watergate baby class of 1974, and those that remained after it were almost uniformally forced to the left if they wished to keep their positions. Prime example was a Congressman from Queens, Jim Delaney. Delaney was the most Conservative member of the NYC delegation from either party, but the Democrats forced him leftwards and he complied. When he retired in 1978 he was replaced by Geraldine Ferraro). The left has similarly invaded the GOP (many of whom would ordinarily be Democrats) for the purpose of weakening it to the point that it can no longer be competitive against the Democrats.

A little interesting fact that many can’t comprehend. Democrats are literally competitive for virtually EVERY Congressional district, legislative district, Mayoralty, you name it, in the United States (now, that doesn’t mean they can win them all, but that even in HEAVILY Republican areas, given the right circumstances, a Democrat can win. One of the most Republican House districts in the U.S. in the 1990s was Utah’s 3rd District. Because of an internecine battle in 1990 when the seat came open, a Democrat won the seat in an upset, a by a wide margin. That Democrat, Jim Orton, even survived the ‘94 GOP landslide, but lost in ‘96 when Clinton locked up a huge chunk of that Congressional district from being developed. Orton’s constituents took it out on him even though Clinton never bothered to let Orton know what was happening). Republicans, on the other hand, have large swaths of the country that they CANNOT be competitive in, mostly urban or non-White territory. Even if the Democrats destroy each other in a primary, the Democrat will still likely prevail in the general no matter how much the Republican spends...

Worse than that, some of the most rabid moonbat areas today once were respectable Republican territory within the past half-century. San Francisco was still half-Republican in the late 1950s. Oakland and Berkeley had a Republican Congressman. So did a good portion of Massachusetts, where the legislature had been majority Republican since the party was founded, and nearly all of New England. Chicago was competitive. Detroit had a Republican Mayor. So did Philadelphia. Seattle, Portland were Republican bastions, even Los Angeles. Now these weren’t moonbat Republicans, these were often center-right (at least Socially) pols that made all these places liveable. Flash forward 50 years, and there’s almost no Republicans left to be found. Even at the lowest of levels, it’s almost impossible for them to get their foot in the door. Many places now where we could eke out 50% or higher are barely registering less than 20% (SF is barely over 10%). An almost systematic annihilation of the Republican party and competitive two-party governance.

It has accelerated dramatically even just since the late 1980s. The Republicans could win EVERY state in the country at the Presidential level. Now there are large swaths we are, again, completely shut out of. Ironically, during that time, many of those states were led by (surprise, surprise) RINO Governors. States like New Jersey, California, Illinois, and Massachusetts. In the early ‘90s when the Republicans made gains against Dukakis, we captured 40% of the legislature (State Senate, 4 seats away from tying the Democrats). Captured 5 statewide offices, won three out of 10 Congressional districts (and were competitive in a few more). Those RINO Governors rather than “padding” their numbers preceded to completely eviscerate the gains. By 2006, MA was as competitive for the GOP as a Deep South state was post-Reconstruction. Barely 10% of the legislature is Republican (and those few remaining are RINOs indistinguishable from their Democrat colleagues). We cannot win any statewide offices, no federal offices, practically nothing, and at each successive election, the Republicans lose what handful of legislative seats they have left. Indeed, MA will likely become the first Northern state to have an ALL-Democrat legislative body in history (the GOP has only 5 seats left in their Senate, and they can vanish quite easily once the incumbents retire).

No, indeed, the Democrats and the left could very easily see the Republicans wiped off the map and STILL use us as a whipping boy. Take a look at urban precincts where Republicans haven’t won office in a half-century or longer and the bogeyman “Republican” is STILL used as a slur to keep the slaves in line. These folks have absolutely no clue what (Conservative) Republican leadership could do to improve their communities. All they know is what Democrats tell them that things may be bad, but they’d be worse under Republicans (how COULD they be worse ?).

I have to give kudos to the left. They have done an absolutely masterful job at hijacking one party, undermining another to the point of non-competitiveness, acquired near-absolute control of media and entertainment institutions, the educational system, the bureaucracy itself, and have terrified an entire race of people into complete submission while working on the remaining races. All the while they have managed to nearly criminalize any dissenting voices that speak out against them (witness today on Drudge, the use of the word “Socialist” is now racist — http://voices.kansascity.com/node/2493 ). All the while we were fighting Communists overseas via Cold War, they were taking over us here, very slowly and very surely, like a frog being boiled alive by degrees. 2008 is now the year when we’ve reached that boiling point.

Like I said, a masterful job. America’s enemies couldn’t have ever done it from without nearly as well as they’ve done it from within. It took a century to reach their goal, but they’ve finally just about done it. Now, what are we going to do to turn it back around ?
