The NBC/MSNBC family of networks has been getting maximum mileage out of Chris Matthews's interview of Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) last week. Matthews himself has been recycling clips ever since. This morning, David Gregory narrated a Today show segment about the interview and its aftermath. The only journalist whose views Gregory aired were those of Nick Coleman, columnist at the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
NICK COLEMAN: I think Michele Bachmann unfortunately is one of those politicians who doesn't understand the boundaries of common sense and sometimes common decency.

Fair ‘n balanced, Today show style, ping to Today show list.
Nick Coleman is left of George Soros.
Coleman’s comments are a slander. Exactly what you would expect from a mealy-mouthed leftist.
The media presents TWO SIDES.
Their side, and the side they advocate.
NBC and MSNBC are nothing more than cheerleaders for the Democrats.
They’re going after Bachmann with a vengeance... and dragging on any Republican dupe they can to condemn her statements. So far, I haven’t seen one Republican stand up for her gutsy comments.
The Left has been painting its philosophy as “patriotic” for the last forty years. Don’t be suckered.
Bachmann on with Laura right now. She is getting slammed with over a million dollars in DNC and Moveon.org funds devoted to defeating her since she spoke out on Matthews the other day. Mark Levin's interview on Monday brought out how her campaign needs assistance. Here is a link if you wish to contribute:
She hates the RINOs more than hates the Anti-American Democrats.
The media are trying to create a meme in this election which will make it impossible to criticize Obama if he's elected and sells out the country. Any criticism of THE ONE is beyond decency.
It's as if we're seeing a coup being executed.
For a man so concerned with observing the "boundaries of common decency," odd that Coleman would have written this in the course of his feud with Power Line.
"Powerline is the biggest link in a daisy chain of right-wing blogs."
Daisy chain [warning: vulgar]? A bit indecent, no Nick?
Contributed last night to her campaign. The Marxist Rats will come after you if you question their ideology or Obama’s long radical associations or provide any hard hitting criticism of same.
I think Nick Coleman has made his career not having to be accountable for anything.
The Left unpatriotic? Consider these matters gleaned from forty years of personal observation:
- the Left continually criticizes both America and the West in general:
- the Left continually maintains that, in sum, American society and culture are flawed in fundamental respects;
- the Left never met an enemy of the United States they didn’t like;
- the Left blames the United States, first and foremost, for all the problems of the World;
- the Left continually rejects free enterprise, free speech, and free elections, all of which are fundamental in America;
- the Left maintains a constant stream of criticism directed at the United States and its institutions;
- regardless of what changes occur in the World and in the United States, the Left’s criticisms never change.
From this we are to conclude that the Left is pro-American and patriotic?
Is he back on the sauce again ?
Another example of Coleman’s idea of common sense and decency:
“With the advent of global warming, Minnesota can no longer count on brutally cold weather to keep out the riffraff. We need high taxes for that.”
