I wonder if this proposition will help McCain with votes in California. I am not talking about a victory, just a bigger piece of the pie so to speak.

I believe it will--just as the "No" vote on Proposition 15, an anti-gun measure that voters sank in 1982 helped to propel California's Republican attorney general George Deukmejian into the state house.

No way could McCain come close could he? The funniest thing I could ever imagine would be the MSM calling it for Obama on the east coast assuming CA would be safe and then having that play out. Could you imagine the look on the faces at MSNBC if that were to happen? The fallout would keep us in stitches for years.

They say its coming whether we like it or not. That's liberal tolerance on display for other people's values.

Its a lie that they just want to live and let live. No - they want to force feed their perverted and immoral lifestyle down every one else's throats.

Etheridge remarked on money that has come from churches out of state to support Proposition 8. Between sets, Etheridge said, “Fifteen million dollars—could you imagine all the people they could have housed in Louisiana? Send it to Darfur! Send it to Tibet!”

Melissa, there happens to be a Biblical figure who expressed quite similar sentiments. I doubt you’d greatly appreciate being compared to him, though.

Its the height of hypocrisy from people who don't believe God and who reject his teachings about the good life to complain about bigotry and heartlessness from those who do believe in Him. We understand other people want to live in a certain way. Fine. But we reject their effort to impose their values upon us. That's not co-existence; that's coercion of those who disagree with things the Bible says is forbidden to people of faith.

Burkle sure knows how to throw a party.

I hope all their effort is for naught—and all their dollars go down the drain on this one.

The version by The Fifth Dimension still referred to "Bill."

Great song, great composer and singer, and great group!

Live by the minority vote, die by the minority vote.

The Democrats have been wildly successful at getting black, Hispanic, and other minorities to vote zombie-like for Democrats, and to come out in ever-increasing numbers.

The problem is that when issues are decoupled from the Democrat imprimatur, minorities very often tend to vote like us toothless hick right wingers.

For this reason, even though gay marriage isn’t a big issue for me, I still get enormous schadenfreude at seeing it go down in flames in the Democrats’ California stronghold.

>>>If she was straight now one would give two cents about this no talent ‘singer’

Well I suppose Melissa can be accused of a lot, but putting “singer” in quotes isn’t one of them. She performs with a passion totally lacking in the prefabricated skank singers who dominate the charts.

One of the most moving pieces of music I have is Melissa performing in the live concert for the New York Heroes. “Born to Run” to the background of hundreds of cheering NYPD and NYFD 9/11 survivors.

The heroes didn’t seem to think she was of no talent. Hillary was boo’d off the same stage but Melissa rocked the house.

>>>the original version of “Wedding Bell Blues” by Laura Nyro,

Laura was also a lesbian. Perhaps the correct lyric all along was Jill?

Fresno reporting in. Supporters of Prop 8 from the LDS persuasion have been advised to bring our Yes on Prop 8 signs in at night due to vandalism. Also, we have been advised to report any and all thefts of our signs or vandalism of our homes and any violence.

Meanwhile, the California Teachers Union gave over one million dollars to defeat Prop 8 which leaves many of us wondering how many books, how many school supplies could have been purchased for California kids with that cool million.

Link to California Teachers Assn giving one million to defeat Prop 8. Please note: They already had given $250,000. Also note: PG&E our utility monopoly gave $250,000 to defeat Prop 8. It is just stupendous that this prop is ahead in the polls. Miracles can still happen.

Prop 8 will win. Case closed.

And then the Cali courts will overturn it, or the bureaucracy will ignore it. Count on it.
