I honestly think another reason for why things were a bit mellower from McCain a few weeks ago (and why its been a lot of Palin) and mind you I don’t think he’s some decrepit old timer...he was steeling himself for this final push. I don’t care who or hoe old you are I would bet this constant traveling and fiery speech making is exhausting!

He’s peaking right when he wanted to and will keep this energy level going until his election Nov. 4th. Then he can take a breather for a month ;)

On McCain’s campaign, this is somewhat off-topic: I’ve noticed he and Sarah now have 3 total stops scheduled for Iowa this weekend. Perhaps they don’t believe the state is truly a lost cause?

Somehow I think you're right!

Cavuto, late this afternoon, was talking about an interview with McCain today where McCain sounded off, or something, maybe discouraged, angry? Did anyone else hear what Cavuto said, or hear the original interview?

Wish I lived near Dayton and could take a class from you. I’ve a hunch you’d work my ass off!

Iowa is lost. It’s a liberal state, by and large, and they love their government subsidied ethanol, which McCain is against (as he should be, BTW).

Sorry, I just saw your post.

He was fired up and hitting oslama on the spread the wealth theme.

Cut taxes, secure America’s safety, open up the world to US products, veto pork, bring home the troops with a victory, among other things.

I used to think Chuck Todd was somewhat credible. Today with that comment I take that back.

I agree and thought McCain did a fabulous job when asked if he regretted his VP choice. He recited her many accomplishments with so much pride that it made me wonder if Chuck even attended the interview.

I didn’t see it, but apparently the interview was with Don Imus. Imus was picking on Palin, so McCain had every right to be cranky. He was definitely in a much better mood this evening!

Difficult for me to believe I did not know of Tawny Kitaen.

John is no Sarah, but he did very well at the event. Real fired up.
Gov. Palin is obviously getting better. As I was watching her speech, I said to myself “say this, or say that,” and she would have if she didn’t have to save some red meat for John.
Mac is finally aiming at the people he needs to win. The global warmers et al. were never going to vote for Mac anyway. Other examples of such narrowly focused interest groups that would never support Mac against Obama (which groups comprise the democrat party) should have been obvious to Mac before now. Yet, Mac foolishly paid them homage.
Well before now, Mac should have moved closer to his base; not move out of Michigan.

But the highlight of the event for me was Ms. Palin. She was able to shine w/o detracting from Mac’s already limited speech making skills. On the contrary, she made, and in contrast to Joe the Senator, Mac look good. And, she does it as only a woman could, to wit, “he’s the only man who has really ever fought for you.” Strong.
I just hope it’s not too late.
Sarah Palin is a natural politician.
She likes it.
She’s a very quick learner from few mistakes.
Assuming Mac only serves one term, or, more significantly, if Mac loses, Palin will be the (at this point anyway) GOP person to beat in 2012. That’ll be hard to do.
When I read in the msm today that Palin was a “drag on the ticket” and that the GOP or some group spent a “huge” (relatively insignificant) sum on her clothes etc., I was reminded of two things: 1) The media (and virtually all of it) is arrogantly biased, truly the press wing of those who espouse a leftist, painfully elitist, agenda; and 2) the msm is terrified of Palin.
Tonight’s speech by Governor Palin showed why.

Was Iowa one of the states where BO “manipulated the caucuses”? Clinton folks were really anger over that.

He looked great. Sarah is such a natural. I think people are realizing what an empty suit Obamuhhh is.

Voter fraud & taxes - they need to hit these issues every day until Nov 4.

It sure was. Obama manipulated the caucus’ in Iowa to win — in fact I would call it cheating to win by Obama and they are still mad.

Heard the othr night that PUMA was have their own Operation Chaos with the polls.

Maybe McCain’s inner polls are telling him what is really happening and that BO isn’t in the lead.

Sorry for posting a somewhat foolish question, but do these rallies really get the populace in the areas to go out and vote McCain? I love hearing everyone’s descriptions and the pics, but is this kind of stuff covered on the local news casts and in the papers, so that they can make a difference in the final vote?

Sorry, I’m a conservative in the People’s Republic of NY, and have not had any experience with Republican rallies. My vote will only be counted for the final nationwide tally.

Correction: Palin’s son Track is in the Army; McCain’s older son Jack is a Midshipman at the US Naval Academy; and his younger son Jimmy is a Lance Corporal in the Marines. Observe the pins that Cindy always wear on her dresses. Those are for their two sons.
