Republicans are slashing their television advertising at Colorado's three biggest television stations, a troubling sign for presidential nominee John McCain.
McCain is headed to Colorado Friday, but public records provided by three Denver stations show the GOP this week cut their ad spending for McCain by 46%.

The GOP cut the ad spending. Not the McCain campaign. And they reduced it, they didn’t end it.
We’re not going to lose in Nevada or Colorado.
This may simply be paring outlays back to the levels they intended all along.

Liberalism is like an infection. Liberals are leaving the Northeast and the Rustbelt and heading to nice places like Colorado and North Carolina. Once they destroy the State economies with Socialism and high taxes they move on to other low taxes/high employment areas to infect again. We’re seeing a change because of this. Rust belt is now in play because the libs have moved on to right to work states that have jobs and low taxes.
But what if he can’t get PA....it seems like he would want to try for CO, just in case.
My crazy in-laws all live in CO and voting Obama. I hthink McCain is just throwing in the towel there too.

Mac will not lose CO or NV, and the $600,000 withdrawn in CO was targetted to help one Congresswoman, it had nothing to do with McCain.
Right, they may be convinced the state is sealed up and diverting resources to other battlegrounds...
From what I expect and have heard “cutting” is not “pulling out”. The issue of money is a great one at least here in NC. Chuck schumer gives Hagan $10 million a month to defeat Dole.
Obama has $605 million to McCain’s $84 million. It is unreasonable to expect him to keep up unless people contribute more. Just like families the campaign has to put money where needed the most.
Some people don’t uderstand that the calls made at GOP headquarters around the nation help decide where the most undecided are and to focus on areas with the most potential to get votes.
This is NOT a by-nature GOP state anymore. Colorado has been Californicated
El Paso County, where I live is the bastion of conservatism in the state, which is why the candidtaes have spent more time here than in Denver. They're all banking on Colorado Springs to swing the state, which means that even Colorado Springs is in play.
I ahve heard that there are false rumors being floated about pulling out of Battleground states including Colorado. It is simply disinformation designed to diminish morale.

I'm disappointed to hear what you're telling me here. I still have hopes for Colorado but they are diminished. Regardless I have pretty much believed the race would be over by the time the polls closed in the Great Plains states.
Time will tell. I know this much though. No matter who wins it really makes no difference. We still have to spend the next four years fighting the good fight. It will be a lot harder to do with Obama in the White House but for the sake of our heirs we'll do all we can.

That is a question for better minds than mine. I do know that the payoff for PA is a lot higher than in CO ... so if the chances are about even, the money is better spent where the payoff is higher.

That is not true. The $84 million is what the Feds gave McCain for taking public funding. It covers the period since the GOP convention ended. McCain has actually raised a substantial amount of money since the GOP primaries ended. The $605 million is what Obama has raised since the Dems primary season ended. This doesn't count what the RNC and the DNC have raised.
This may in fact be a sign that the lead has solidified, and that McCain is moving money to more needy areas.

Why do you cut back on spending? If you think 1) you can't win, or 2) you're going to win.
I'm not privy to RNC or McCain strategy. I only know what I see/hear/read/observe. The momentum in red states has been all toward the GOP recently. Palin just did three events in CO, McCain's going back tomorrow for two more (I think). You folks do the math.
Wanna hear another laugher? I just saw a Yahoo headline saying that Obama and McCain were neck and neck for the rural vote. I'll give those pesky, biased reporters credit. They don't give up, no matter how ridiculous it may sound.

Colorado has really struggled the past couple elections, and that points to a liberal shift.
We got to keep in mind if we start losing the SW, it will be virtually impossible to win elections in the future even if we can pull it out this time.
CO, FL, IN, MI, MN, MO, NC, NM, NV, OH, PA, VA and WI.
McCain/Palin are not only going to win, but they're going to win comfortably. Definitely we still need to vote and work hard, but now let's turn our attention to winning/saving some House, Senate and gubernatorial seats.
Most polls show Obama up by double digits in Michigan.
The problem is that as they pull out of states, the reduce the number of backup options so there is no margin for error in even one state. I'm fairly confident things are trending the right way in Missouri, Ohio and Florida. I think both Virginia and Pennsylvania are going to be tough fights.
