WRKO: MA AG Galvin fights order by Court to ensure military members get absentee ballots
WRKO Radio, Boston | 10/23/08

Posted on 10/23/2008 12:20:35 PM PDT by pabianice

I almost drove off the road this morning when I heard this.

Massachusetts Attorney General Bill Galvin, a surly hack who makes Joe Biden look like a wise statesman, has been slapped by a federal court for trying to disenfranchise members of the military. Seems Galvin has willfully disobeyed a federal courts' instruction to count the number of military absentee ballots returned to Massachusetts from overseas, especially US sailors and Marines. According to WRKO, Galvin has not met this requirement since he's been in office and a court finally slapped him hard. In response, Galvin claims that he doesn't have time to ensure that absentee military ballots are accounted for and counted during an election. The host on the radio then mentioned that Galvin was out in front of a CVS drug store personally passing-out voter registration forms to everyone who walked by -- citizen and non-citizen alike.

This is part of the undercurrent in this election. Democrats are absolutely determined to treat the milityary like crap and do everything they can -- lawful and unlawful -- to make Obama win.

Support the troops - MY ASS.

This is the same crap that Al Gore and the demonRATS tried to pull in the 2000 elections.

These decidedly UN-American, UN-Patriotic assholes KNOW FULL WELL that most of the military votes Republican/Conservative, and it is THEY (desite the fact that they try to say it is Repubs that do this), that always try and suppress the vote and/or cheat incessantly.

They did it in 2004, too.

But you can be certain that the absentee ballots of the college students will be counted.

Then those students can vote again on election day in their college towns. More than once, if they are registered in more than one precinct.

Nobody will be doing any checking.

Remember, it’s “racist” to validate voters.

ACORN is right -- the problem is voter suppression

“i wonder whether our side will fight back with the same tactics?”

maybe in places where the infrastructure is not Stalinist.

But many conservatives, constructionists, and Republicans still believe in the rule of law, and ethics, and honor. Abandon those for a Stalinist-Alinsky approach to WIN AT ANY COST and maybe they’ll read Rules For Radicals and fight back in kind.

Then there is the issue of what would we do- not count votes from illegals or those on welfare? how to ID them? the military absentee vote is a soft target that’s easy to isolate.

Here we go again! The military vote was never counted in FL for the 2000 election. The FL stupid-ream court excluded them, and the Cuban ballots from their re-count before the SCOTUS stopped the madness.

I’d rather fight back with some 2nd Amendment rights... or at the very least seeing this scuz-bucket put down, HARD.

What a scumbag. Will this result in any backlash against him? Probably not. Palin was right when she said some parts of America are not patriotic.

This was talked about last night on WTKK Boston/ Michelle McPhee. Galvin (aka The Prince of Darkness* from his days in
the state legislature) is prob unopposed, I’m thinking?

*—I think that nickname came from late night sessions...

How about some clarification. Is he suppressing military absentee ballots in THIS election, or is this something from the past? The way it’s worded, it sounds like it’s an old story

Galvin has been doing this since he entered office and he is doing it again this year.

Galvin is the secretary of state, not the AG ... either way he’s a scumbag.
