The former press secretary to George Bush has announced he is backing Barack Obama in the race to replace his ex-boss as US president.
Scott McClellan said on Thursday that he had decided to back the Democrat because he wanted to support the candidate with the best chance of changing the way Washington - the political heart of the US - works and gets things done.
His announcement is yet another blow to the campaign of John McCain, the Republican contender, who is struggling to erode Obama's opinion poll lead.
McClellan is the second former Bush administration figure this week to publicly support Obama after Colin Powell, the former US secretary of state under Bush, threw his weight behind the Illinois senator.
McClellan disclosed his decision during the recording of a television show to be shown on CNN, the US broadcaster, this weekend.
Who cares !
Enjoy it while it lasts, Scott.
Obama can have him. He’s always been a democrat.
The Bush administration, the gift that keeps on giving.
The only vote that affects is McClellan’s. There are many Democrats who will vote for McCain but they can’t say it in public without being pilloried by the Party and the MSM. McClellan had his two days of fame a couple months ago when he stabbed Bush in the back. Now he’s back for another 5 minutes. I echo your sentiment: WHO CARES!!
If Obama wins, I hope Scott becomes his press secty.
Proof I guess that some Republicans are secretly Marxists at heart.
Scott who?
like we’re surprised...
No good SOB.
That’s worse than a regular SOB.
Yawn.....
Um.....with the complete hatred of Bush on the left, I am struggling to see how FORMER BUSH ADMINISTRATION OFFICIALS endorsing Obama is a good thing. I mean, they used to work for the most evil man to ever be born!
/sarc

McClellan is a douchebag.
The only reason why this is even newsworthy is because it gives the press yet another excuse to poke McCain in the eye saying, ‘oh, lookie - another Republican voting for Obama!’
Otherwise, no on would care what McClellan thinks.
gee..I wonder..if in the privacy of the voting booth..does mcclellan vote with a deer in the headlight look??
You took the words right out of my mouth! LOL
Wowsers . . . . this is a non-earth shaking non-news item.
If this is what passes for news by the DBM, why don’t they just print that a “consensus of climatology scientists” have concluded that the sun rises in the east?? It has the same news value.
Similar to another McClellan.
It was?
Scott is the poster boy for everything that was wrong with the George Bush administration. First, from a Democrat family, the fact that he was from Texas seems to have been the primary reason he got the job. Second, he was so often tongue-tied, watching him in front of the national press was painful. Third, he was not very intelligent. Finally, (like Colin Powell and other cabinet officials} despite his many faults he was kept on much too long. In sum, Bush was certainly devoted to the Lord and Karl Rove, but it is a shame he didn’t pay at least some attention to Machiavelli.
Is he the one who wrote the anti-Bush Book? sheesh
My thoughts exactly. Hey, who HIRED him?
Nobody likes a turncoat. Even Democrats think this rat is an a**hole. His endorsement can only HELP McCain.
Maybe whites should start rioting. /sarc
“His announcement is yet another blow to the campaign of John McCain, the Republican contender, who is struggling to erode Obama’s opinion poll lead.”
Heavens to Betsy! LOL
This man has a real mad on.
Sure seems like a lotta Bush RINOs are flying the pubbie coop.
Perhaps the biggest failure of the Bush Admin was that they did not get out the message about the war. They allowed the Dems to hammer and hammer and hammer them without response. To use a clinical term, McClellan absolutely sucked as a press secretary.
In way, lying scumbags make better politicians. If you regularly lie to people, you don't trust what others are telling you and you become more skeptical about your advice you're getting.
According to the Baker report, which I have no reason to doubt, the problem was Cheney and Rumsfeld consistently echoing the need for limited warfare in belief that Saddam's regime was a house of cards and there would be no long-term insurgency (remember there was a tax-cut pledge by 43 and he wanted to keep his word despite the war). Gen. Casey and Amb. Bremer exacerbated the situation in backing the plan and stifling calls by folks such as Petraeus for a surge, thus allowing more foreign al-Qaeda to pour across Iraq's porous borders. Meanwhile the looting and crime was escalating throughout the cities, the populace was emboldened and IEDs were being planted throughout the cities. I credit Bush with the initial fall of Baghdad but he deserves the criticism for mishandling the war. He reminds me of Jefferson Davis--a good man but a poor commander in chief.
I agree with you...Can you imagine what this allwould have been like with Tony Snow instead?
BTW..did anyone notice at that fancy press dinner they mentioned Timmy russert and completley avoid ed Tony? Scum.
Nobody cares? This pansy already trashed the Bush Administration. How could this possibly be considered “news” in any way? Pure propaganda from the Obamedia.

You know what, I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. A good point - and I believe Tony was Catholic, too - maybe - not sure...
Now the dims suddenly love him?
Nahhh. Sorry to be the one to tell you Scotty, but they still think you can't find your behind with both hands and a shovel, and now Conservatives can't stand the sight of you either.
