Obama, McCain: U.S. citizens

One of the more tiring duelling refrains of the presidential campaign is that: 1) John McCain was not born in the United States, and cannot, under the Constitution, serve as president, and, 2) Barack Obama says he was born in Hawaii, but cannot show a birth certificate. As tired as the line of reasoning on both fronts may be, it keeps showing up in the reader-comments on postings here in the Swamp. So we're here this morning, a little more than a week from the election of the 44th presient of the United States, to assure readers that both of the candidates for president of the leading parties are Americans. Amazing, but true, the candidates are Americans. McCain was born to American parents, his father serving as a submariner in the U.S. Navy at the Coco Solo base in the Panama Canal Zone when and where young John Sidney McCain III was born. Barack Hussein Obama II -- and yes, he actually has joked that he got his middle name from people who never thought he'd be running for president -- was born in Hawaii, in 1961, and has a birth certificate to show for it. So now, go vote early. For an American. And knock of the citizenship stuff..

McCain has proven it. Obama gives us doctored copies of a birth certificate that may or may not be real and blocks any attempt at seeing the original.

I notice how he uses the liberal tactic of equivalency here. He’s saying that there have been controversies about both candidates eligibility to run for president. McCain’s situation of being born in the Canal Zone, which was an American possession at the time, is far different than the situation with Obama allegedly being born in Kenya.

That’s liberals for you. They try to nullify any criticism of Obama on this issue by saying that McCain has to deal with the same issue.

We've seen McCain's Birth Certificate. All we've seen from Obama -- assuming it's not a fraud -- is a computer print-out of a "Certification of Live Birth," NOT a "Birth Certificate." The Chicago Tribune writes as if it has seen the actual Obama Birth Certificate. If they have, are they willing to file an affidavit to that effect with the court? Why is Obama unwilling to share that actual vault copy of his Birth Certificate with the nation that he wants to elect him?

I'm willing to accept that they're both "Americans." But are they both qualified to run for, and hold, the office of President of the United States? It takes more than just being an "American" to do that, you know. Or do you?

One needs to provide a birth certificate to get a U.S. passport. How did Obama get a passport?

If he was born overseas, and/or lost his citizenship when adopted in Indonesia, then didn’t he have to become a naturalized citizen to regain his citizenship at some point? And wouldn’t he have had to provide that paperwork to get his passport?

I think his passport file would contain some answers to these questions.

Nope only got a one page doctor summary from The naive One. Even Gretta said that was patently unfair and she was going to pursue it with Obama.

Sarah released all her medical records after being hounded for weeks, records for even her pregnancies were released.

I am curious how the drug issue is handled in Obama's medical records. What was the recovery like from the cocaine habit he wrote about in his book.

Hmm. The Word has gone out from the Chosen One to say there is nothing here to see.

The preferred treatment of such matters as the missing birth certificate, and Obama’s refusal to produce it, is to ignore the whole matter and sweep it under the rug.

The mainstream press has occasionally suggested that McCain, born in Hawaii, is not a citizen, even though the law says that he is, and congress has agreed. But they have steadfastly ignored the birth certificate question.

Looks like it must be heating up to the point where they need some damage control. Next, another fake COLB? Or a court order from a crooked Chicago judge to the Hawaiain authorities to come up with a new and improved COLB?

Time is running out, so Obama will just try to stonewall until he is in office. Then he can send any doubters of his Messiahship to reeducation camps.

My birth certificate has the name of the doctor who delivered me and that seems standard on all birth certificates. I wonder why we haven’t heard who the doctor is that delivered Obama.
