A week ago I wrote a column here saying that the pollsters had to get their samples in line with reality. Apparently Rasmussen is pig-headed and insists on overpolling Dems, but IDB-Tipp and Battleground are coming right into line.

If they have McCain down 2 nationally, he wins the EC. If it's tied nationally, he wins IA and NH too, and we probably save another 5-6 congressional seats.

Decent news, but keep an eye on undecideds, they are the election, and I’d love to know in what districts the early voting has grown.

Just remember folks: the polls showing a double digit or high single digit lead will be absolutely correct...if Republicans don’t show up! It’s up to us. We turn out in droves, we’ll make fools out of the pollsters and the pundits. But if we listen to the pollsters and the media trying to convince us the race is over, if we give in to the propaganda and stay home, then those polls will be accurate and they will have successfully manipulated us into giving Obama the victory.

We should know about NH fairly early in the night correct? If McCain wins NH early in the night we will know it is going to be a very good night.

The only flaw in the ointment is the TV networks will call states early for Obama even if they are close. They will call states late for McCain or hold back if they are close. Just something to watch out for on Election Night.

Is all the anti-turnout propaganda going to work on the base? I don't think so. 1. this is not 2006; this is a Presidential election, and 2. I believe the base, by and large, is onto these tactics.

It seems to me that the polls are being used to shape public opinion, rather than reflect public opinion.

Pollsters seem to be oversampling d-rats in some internals, and as we get closer to the actual election, they get more realistic, or as you said, “...had to get their samples in line with reality.”

Perhaps the liberty pollster take in telling us the truth is lie number 49 in the next installment of your terrific book, “48 Liberal Lies About American History.”

If they don't call NH for either candidate, I will take that as a very good sign.

But every state that goes for Obama, they will post early to create that juggernaut image they want people to have. And like in 2000, they hope GOP voters in key states get so demoralized, they give up and go home. We all remember how they called FL for Gore on the basis of completely misleading exit poll data.

I'll state the obvious again:

The “Bradley Effect” will kick in to a much more significant degree than has been anticipated.

When the earlier results of the Clinton-Obama primaries in WVa, Ky, and other “ culture-sensitive” states are closely analyzed, it becomes evident that there is a reservoir of cultural voters out in the hustings — across the country —who simply would not vote for a Black under any circumstance.

Needless to say, these same voters would never reveal their feelings to any pollster — or for that matter — to even their closest friends.

What this percentage is of the total electorate is, in my view, the 64 dollar question, in this election.

My gut tells me it may be adequate to see Detroit in flames.

If they haven’t decided to support “The One” already they way he has been pushed down our throats, they aren’t likely to do so.

I believe so too but it is disconcerting when even some Freepers (who you think would know better) seemingly throw in the towel whenever a new Zogby or Rasmussen poll comes out. Conversely, though, there is talk that if Democrats feel they have it in the bag then a number of them may not bother showing up. It'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

As long as McCain has the BIG MO at the end (the last 3-4 days) then i feel very good about our chances. Hopefully they have a brilliant end game strategy ready to go.

I think some pollsters are going to stick to their inflated projections because they actually believe the electorate is going to turn out like that. So it wouldn’t surprise me to have kooky polls all the way to Election Day.

You are forgetting the media template my friend. When a Republican wins a state it isn't called until midnight. When a Democrat is even close to winning it is called at 7 PM!
