It may have tanked, but it will still win the Oscar. Hollywood loves it.
Good.
I said exactly the same thing earlier today. Poor Peggy Noonan, and Kathleen Whatsername, have to have posed shots. surgical tape, vasiline on the lenses. Wonder why they have a problem with the beauty that is Sarah?
That thing is out already? Absolutely no surprise that it bombed.
it won’t do well overseas either because it doesn’t portray Bush as a diabolical fiend who plotted 911 and eats babies for breakfast.
...the beauty that is Sarah, inner and outer,
Thats a question that answers itself.
Good grief, even "C" or "N' would have been better.
That was Oliver's first mistake and it was all downhill from there.

I have a feeling ‘American Carol’ will do well on the DVD market.
American Carol was made by conservatives but not the kind of movie conservatives like to watch.
I think his film on Alexander the Great also tanked, and was probably a hundred times more difficult to make.
Probably lots more expensive too. Will he continue to find investors forever?
Good news ping.
Not sure what “tremdous” means, however.
“Prejudices are expensive, eh, OStone?”
There’s the problem........I’ll bet that not only did Stone not lose on this project, but that he collected a hefty paycheck. The investors lost, sure.......but next time Ollie comes up with a “brilliant” idea for a left-wing loon-fest they will be lined up to invest again.....
Some gal who works with me saw it and said it was the first movie she’s ever fallen asleep at. Said it was terrible.
It's production budget was $20-million. Estimated domestic total as of October 23rd was only $6,900,000. Looks like it did not recoup it's production costs [yet]. I do plan on buying the DVD.
I'd vote for him again if I could.
He’ll probably do one on her next, with Tina Fey.
Maybe they mean people like me that wanted to see it fail. Cue the Ha Ha guy.
Theaters get a small cut 5% first week which generally increases 5% per week from the gate. However, they make most of the real $ on concessions, so high turnover hurts their ticket revenue. But, movies drop fast—so longer running movies don’t get concession goers. Vicious circle, studios make out like bandits.
At least that’s how it was in the mid 90’s. College job. Other comments about giving “half-stubs” are another common scam. Kid in the box-office keeps your money and doesn’t print out a new ticket, thus screwing the studio.
Other scams—at concession—work in a similar way...best not to think about that....
