After seeing the lefts hit job on Barack Obama critic Samuel Wurzelbacher (a/k/a Joe the Plumber), I cant help wondering if political factors play a role in the recent downfall of another Obama dissenter.
Last week, talk radio host Edward Reese Hopkins, a black conservative Republican whose show preceded Rush Limbaughs broadcast on Bostons WRKO between December 2007 and October 2008, was arrested on charges that he sexually assaulted a friend of his stepdaughters in New York City in the fall of 2004. Hopkins has denied the charges, claiming that he did not live in New York City at the time the alleged assault took place. He also claims that he ordered his stepdaughter not to have any contact with the alleged victim several months prior to the time of the alleged assault, because the alleged victim was an inappropriate influence upon his stepdaughter. According to published reports, the alleged victims mother only learned about the alleged 2004 assault this past summer.
Hopkins made a handful of appearances on CNN and Fox Business Channel prior to his arrest; in his most recent appearance, three days before his arrest, Hopkins made clear his disdain for Colin Powells decision to endorse Obama. Hopkins also made criticism of Obama a focal point of his WRKO show.
Hopkins, of course, is innocent until proven guiltywhich is why it is so bizarre that some in the Boston area have already decided that Hopkins is guilty. The comment sections of Boston Herald stories about the Hopkins case feature various posts with a string him up theme: apparently, the folks making these posts have never heard of people being falsely accused of sex crimes.

The same thing is happening here in Chicago! Our Conservative talk show hosts are being targeted.
If it were a boyfriend of his stepdaughter, Boston would be OK with it.
“Did Hopkins legitimately conservative politics play a role in his arrest?”
I am thinking about Al Sharpton, and Tawana Brawley. Or even the La Crosse team, Mike Nifong’s unethical practices.
His most recent TV interview on CNN [from the article link]
This video needs ratings - lots of Obamots blasting his interview on Colin Powell’s endorsement.
“claiming that he did not live in New York City at the time the alleged assault took place. “
Too bad alibis didn’t stop Mike Nifong from indicting clearly innocent people in Durham, appeasing his lynch mob of dysfunction and winning his election.
Some years ago Tucker Carlson was accused by some lunatic of raping her—in public in a crowded restaurant, in a city which he had never visited. Even though he could prove he was somewhere else on that day he had to spend $10,000 to $15,000 on legal bills fighting the charges—his employer (a cable network, I think it was) gave him no support even though they could probably have verified his alibi very easily.
DISSENT AGAINST BIG BROTHER!!!
Yes, THIS is what we have to Look Forward to!!
