ROMNEY ANTI-PALIN

Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers, some of whom are currently working for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin's bid for the White House, have been involved in spreading ant-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election. "Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012," says one former Romney aide, now working for McCain-Palin. "The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney. He's in charge on November 5th."

Add Romney to the list of Vichy Republicans. Come Nov. 5, either way, it will be pay back time.

I would be willing to bet $5 that the “anonymous McCain campaign staffers” are David Assholerod and his butt buddy Plouffe.

Ignore this non sense. If Republicans get out and vote republican, we have this thing bagged.

Be prepared for a ton of Lifelong Republican stories this week though. The Obama campaign has unlimited Middle East cash to paint a false picture all the way to election day. Wouldn’t be surprised is 250K hit Zogby’s account today for a nice, Obama +12 headline tomorrow.

Anonymous obama campaign staffers have told me they prefer McCain/Palin over obama.

There.

If this is true, Romney will never get my vote.

I lived in MA under Romney. He is an affable fellow, but he is also a "go along to get along" type of guy. The conservative movement needs a leader and a fighter. We say we are all looking for the next Reagan. I disagree, we are all looking for the political equivalent of the George Patton. And I say our Patton is Sarah Palin.

For those that have never read it, the real words of the speech that Patton gave to 3ARMY before DDay is much better than the George C. Scott "sanitized" version:

http://greatspeeches.wordpress.com/2008/09/30/pattons-speech-to-the-third-army-june-5th-1944/

Those men in 3ARMY would have crawled over cut glass for Patton because they knew that he was a fighter and would never stop until the job was done. I feel that way about Palin. If the election goes badly for us, I feel like moving to Alaska and signing up for the Palin 2012 campaign immediately!

Mitt was on Fox and Friends this morning and was asked if it was a mistake for McCain to choose Palin instead of him for VP. He said “no, it was a net plus” and went on to talk favorably about her. If what his aid said is true, he didn’t give any indication of that this morning on F and F. That may be his true feelings, but he is being a good soldier as far as I can tell. By they way, I was never a Mitt supporter.

Romney would never get my vote anyway.

This kind of backstabbing is completely unacceptable.

Romney needs to quit running for president. He'll never get the support he needs. All he does is hurt the other candidates.

No, they've actually been seeking to hurt McCain/Palin's chance in this election. Why? Because a GOP victory next week effectively eliminates Romney from contention in '12.

The good news is that the Clintons have the exact same motivation and we may see the biggest October Surprise ever this week.

Mitt, and his followers, are still tasting the sour grapes of his not getting the nod.

It was evident in St Paul. And it’s still evident.

He wants to head the party in the event we aren’t able to drag Mac across the finish line. Pure and Simple.

He is scared to death of Sarah.

Are these anomymous sources, again???

I would doubt this until I see more info on it.

Sarah’s appeal is her “commonality”, which is an area that Mitt is seriously lacking in. I love Mitt, I think he would have been a better candidate (especially in light of current economic conditions), but he is so rich, some people just would not be able to get past that.

If Romney wants ANY future in the Republican Party, he will need to get out in front of this right now and very PUBLICLY rebuke any of his people involved. This is beyond the pale.

Um...according to the article (if true) these people are now McCain staffers, not Romney workers. Besides, as I said above, I thought he did a nice job of supporting her.

“Actually, he was very positive about Ms Palin, IMO.”

Publicly he has to be. Behind the scenes, I’m guessing a different story.Which is OK if kept to yourself. If his staffers are in fact causing mayhem and spilling to the media, they should given the boot today.Make it public who is getting canned as well. I like Romney, he was my Gov. and did an excellent job( when he wasn’t running for POTUS), but I’m not happy if he is behind the shenanigans.

P.S. My only complaint about Romney is government mandated healthcare in MA.

Are they doing so with Romney's approval?

I had said that the revolt of Romney voters could be a serious pain this year. A whole lot of folks were in this for Mitt Romney, not the GOP and the Conservative movement. Just look at the GOP Press folks, mostly the Romney supporters, who've gone after Palin.

The behavior of many Romney bloggers has been less than helpful, to say the least. It would be no surprise to me that some have infiltrated Team McCain under the guise of wanting to help.

If it is their goal to propel Mitt Romney by sabotaging this race, and thereby the country, so that he can be the “front-runner” in 2012, they are gravely mistaken in their logic. Being a cog in the political wheel that gives Democrats near-totalitarian control over the USA is a treasonous act to Conservatives like myself.

But you are letting facts confuse the fantasies of the Romney hating crowd. You must be one of those eeeeeeeevil right wing conservatives who makes your decisions based on logic rather than feeeeeeeeeeeeeelings.
