Newspaper editors and TV producers are well practiced at ignoring wire service stories or national media stories which harm Obama.
They are also well-practiced at negating an Obama 'sin' by making it appear that McCain (or another Republican) advocates the same thing, or some such distortion.
Never underestimate the ability of liberal (subconscious or otherwise) networks to shill for Obama and the Democrats.
