Crowd Packs Stadium for Palin (Biggest Ever at Salem Football Facility 18,000-20,000)

Crowd Packs Stadium for Palin posted 5:34 pm Mon October 27, 2008 reporter: Matt Dreyer A record-breaking crowd is at Salem Stadium waiting to hear from Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin. This is thought to be the largest crowd ever to gather at the stadium.

Palin is scheduled to take the stage at about 6:45 for this rally in Battleground Virginia. They are getting anxious, plenty of anticipation as they await Sarah Palin's arrival. For Republicans in our area, this is their first chance to see someone from the presidential ticket, and it was an opportunity they would not pass up.

Leave it to the kids to start a pep rally in the parking lot. They are still years away from casting their first ballot, but not too young to be a part of history.

Evans Schmedtje, 12 years old - "We love Sarah Palin. She's awesome."

Hundreds of people began lining up hours before the big event. Kelly Yeatts was one of the first in line. She’s seeing Palin for the third time.

Kelly Yeatts, Seeing Palin for 3rd Time - "I think it's important that people hear about the issues and the best way to hear about them is to come out to a rally and to listen to what the candidates are saying."

By midday, the line wrapped around the parking lot. Supporters anxiously waiting, and braving the cold. Many of those in line were women, who could easily identify with the Alaskan governor. Joaquita Martin is from Alaska with ties to this area, and she, just like Palin, is a hockey mom.

Joaquita Martin, Alaska Hockey Mom - "I came down to find the place and I said oh my gosh, there's already a line. I better get in it."

For many, it's a family affair. Charles Dick brought his 13-year old granddaughter, knowing something like this may not happen again anytime soon.

Charles Dick, Roanoke - "I wanted her to be a part of history and see Sarah."

Zoey Smith, 13 years old - "She's an amazing person. It would be a great opportunity to meet her and just see her."

This is Palin's third stop in Virginia. She started Monday morning in Leesburg with a rally before heading to Fredericksburg for another event. Her running mate, John McCain (web|news|bio), spent the day campaigning in another battleground state -- Pennsylvania.

MSM will report "a few hundred in attendance", I'm sure.

Just more evidence that she is dragging the party down... Has the MSM been touting the crowd numbers that Obama has been drawing since Palin?.. Nope.

Obama has an ideological committment to higher taxes. He changes daily on the specifics, but not the basic idea of raising taxes.

Don’t believe the polls. If she was such a drag to McCain as the press tries to tell us, she would not be drawing these crowds..It’s a very good sign-also the biggest SNL ratings in a very long time. People don’t tune in to someone they don’t like.

“Has the MSM been touting the crowd numbers that Obama has been drawing since Palin?.. Nope”

Well...they did in NM when it was an enormous crowd. The only thing the MSM forgot to mention was that it was a crowd for a FREE Santana concert that obama just happened to jump up on stage after it was over. The way the story read it was obama that the masses were there to see when it was freaking free concert.

Other than that, you are correct.

Don’t kid yourself — there are more Republicans in this state than in most Red States.

Unfortunately we also have more moonbats than in almost any other state. *sigh*

If we split this state’s EVs — no Democrat would ever win the White House.

Stop and think for a minute. When was the last time a VP nominee was packing in these type of crowds?

Seriously, there's more support for McCain-Palin than meets the eye. 70 million people watched the VP debate - they sure as Hell didn't see Biden. They wanted to see Palin. Palin is extremely popular, that's why you see these hit pieces about she's "dragging" down the ticket, she's fighting with McCain's handlers, etc. The MSM doesn't want us to acknowledge the truth.

IMO, The only reason 80 million people were watching a VP debate with Blowhard Biden was to figure out if Sarah was a worthy successor to Ronaldus Maximus. :)

Tito is an immigrant from Columbia (a plumber or electrician - I can’t remember) who Sarah had on stage as another “Joe” who was upset about Obama’s comments to the real Joe the Plumber. The crowed yelled several times, “Tito! Tito!”

From what I’ve heard the venue he was at in Denver only holds 34,000. The police were counting people hanging around outside as there to see him. Knowing the MSM’s penchant for lying, who knows the true number?

Sarah is out pulling Obama around 3 and 4 to 1. Unreal.

McCain, unless there is some Obama scam concert, pulls almost as well as Obama.

Joe - well a smaller & narrower aisle at his hangout Home Depot will hold his “rallies.”

I just returned from the night outdoor rally in New Port Richey, Florida, starring Joke Biden.

He spoke before a crowd of 2000 max. Sarah would have pulled in 20,000.

Joe can't draw flies.

We had a group of about 100 which turned out to give Ole Joe a nice Florida welcome to he and his staff who blew into town by bus....."The Evasive Talk Express", I think it was called.
