Posted on 10/27/2008 8:50:57 PM PDT by pissant
The McCain campaign is definitely demoralized right now. The blame game has begun.
There is no question that there is a rift between Sarah Palin's camp and that of John McCain inside the Republican campaign, sources tell ABC News.
Watch George Stephanopoulos on "Nightline" tonight at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC
And you are seeing people within the McCain campaign starting to look to the future.
Not only Palin, but many of the McCain staffers, as well, are circulating their resumes and pointing the finger.
Whenever people in the campaign are starting to worry more about their own reputations rather than whether they're going to win in seven days, there is a significant problem.

You wish, lil’ Greeky.
I hear odumbo is dropping out of ohio and florida from unnamed sources too
MSM is begging to be shocked on election day.
Oh yea, “sources” say McCain is pulling out of Colorado too.
dont count john out. the press is trying to do just that.
Yeah right. And I never had sex with “That (wom)one”.
I heard that pigs fly also
Are you being snarky or a tart?
Since it’s coming from Steffie, does anyone know of a single credible reason to suspect there is any truth to this rumor?
Since the campaign is drawing to a close I would suspect that those Obama workers who aren’t in line for potential cabinet posts or ambassadorships are putting out resumes also.
This all started with Politico and has grown since then.
When all ya got is a post turtle, ya gotta pamper it.
I love how they’re all focusing on this supposed McCain/ Palin rift and meanwhile Biden’s out there predicting death and destruction if Obama’a elected and nary a word from the MSM.
Oh Please! ABC News! Your boy is going to lose his ass in 1 week! Give it up!
I know, right.
heh. looks like ABC is workin’ overtime...since they aren’t carrying Hussein’s Obamathon commercial tomorrow, they’re trying to make up for it by posting “the election is over” stories.
Barry was very beatable too....
This sounds like propaganda.
Even if the polls are correct, with their Democratic oversampling and all, the deficit is only 3-7%, not 20% as they would have you believe.
The amount of BS going around this year is astounding. Hopefully, this will be the year the media died.
do people like george look themselves in the mirror?
Republicans in chaos, face chasm,loss.
Democrats unite in solidarity.
wash rinse repeat.
You’d think the DNC propagandists would come up
with something new.
McCain/Palin win mandate!
Ah, George, a bit SHORT-sighted as usual, eh? :-)
I love when libs try to stir up crap when there isn’t any around, except of course what they are spewing! ;-)
The moon is made of green cheese, report at 11.
CNN was pushing this all evening. What bull feathers.
The age old commie trick of unsubstantiated diversion.
“Pay no attention to that Marxist behind the curtain!”
An old Clinton staffer should know better -- kneeling is always preferred.
Anyone who believes this story is smoking a substance far deadlier than crack.
Yep, the story has been exaggerated with each re-telling too. Also, it was disgruntled Romney infiltrators who originally bitched to the press about Governor Palin not sticking to their scripts, thereby creating this whole thing.
McCain is about as exciting to listen to as paint peeling. But he still has a very good chance to win, but he MUST take the gloves off. Both he and Sarah
This stuff started with Politico back in September. It’s been one Politico’s pet memes.
Barry poll number are dropping !
I would rather have a rift than an implosion.
You nailed it.
I’d be frustrated if I was Palin. She was probably told they would run AGAINST Obama, not dance with him.
The MSM’s echo chamber. One starts a rumor, the rest reprint it, and then they spend a week talking about it from different angles until it becomes imprinted on the national subconscious as “fact”.
Bingo! Politico was in his hip pocket during the primaries and then switched to Obama.
I got clobbered today by a few for essentially saying the same thing where the leaks were coming from in the campaign. Sad but when it was Rudy/Fred/Huckabee people that went to McCain there were no leaks. After the Convention when he took on the others, leaks have been going on ever since.
Exactly! Wouldn’t trust Politico if they told me the sky was blue — I would go check and it probably would be black and raining.
Or you can watch his wife on a rerun of "In Living Color".
I am with you — I don’t trust Politico at all.
Cripes, pissant, would you PLEASE stop being a shill for the DBM’s desperate unsourced “McCain’s campaign is melting down” garbage? Seriously. If you can’t see their fear — driven by real poll internals, the massive crowds Palin has been drawing, and their ploy here of trying to demoralize the GOP voting base as a last ditch effort to save their (anti-)messiah, then I’m shocked. You usually post good stuff, but this is getting ridiculous.
Let’s see - a few days ago the Politico blog wrote a story with an imaginary unnamed source who allegedly said that Palin has gone “Rogue.” The following day this is incorporated into the Obama staff talking points and issued to the Media outlets, who then embellish this into an imaginary divide-and-conquer war between McCain and Palin.
If there’s any schism between candidates I would say it’s between the Obama and Biden staffs. After Biden “went Rogue” and claimed that the U.S. would be subject to an attack by foreign countries if Obama were elected, Obama took the extraordinary step of calling a press conference to minimize the damage of Biden’s “rhetorical flourishes.” Further after Biden is in over his head in the Barbara West interview, the Obama staff takes another extraordinary step by forbidding Biden to have any further interviews in anything other than the most controlled circumstances. My sense is that the Obama staffers are coming down hard on the Biden staffers. Why else would flunkies like Stephenopoulis be going to such extremes as in this article?
“This all started with Politico and has grown since then.”
Yes..but them again...the sheeple wont know that..only an internet political geek knows that...
Only an idiot would be demoralized by Clinton’s spokesgirl stephie.
Sounds about right.
"When your VP selection is more widely favored by the base of your party then you are screwed."
Bah, as far as that goes so was Cheney.
