Ohio’s inspector general is investigating why a state agency director approved checking the state child-support computer system for information on “Joe the Plumber.”

Helen Jones-Kelly, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, confirmed today that she OK’d the check on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher following the Oct. 15 presidential debate

That's the problem. NO ONE will be fired, this is the status of politics in America today. Clinton really broke the door down by using the IRS to investigate gis "enemies" - now it's become a common practice among those who claim the represent "the little guy" or "working Americans".

Rest assured, there is serious corruption in Ohio. No one will be fired.

If the previous Republican governor Taft hadn't been such a pansy-RINO, he would have cleaned out some of this stuff. And he would still have a job. Bottom line is the government in Ohio needed cleaning out (just like the federal government) and it didn't get done (also just like the federal government).

And now, with a democRAT in the governor's chair, there's slim chance that anything will be done about the corruption. Ohio is following Michigan's path straight down the toilet.

Delphi worker data is missing - Information from 2,600 former Dayton-area employees removed from unattended laptop.
Dayton Daily News (OH) - Saturday, August 2, 2008
Author: William Hershey Staff Writer

COLUMBUS — A flash drive containing the Social Security numbers and other personal information from 2,600 Dayton-area former Delphi workers was removed from the laptop of a state employee that was left unattended and and is now missing.

Helen Jones-Kelley , director of the Job and Family Services department, said on Friday, Aug. 1, that letters have been sent to all those affected. The incident occurred on July 25 in Lebanon, Jones-Kelley said.

The drive included the names, addresses, telephone numbers as well as the Social Security numbers of the workers. Their names were on the drive because of their involvement in a benefits rights training program for workers who might qualify for federal trade adjustment assistance.

(snip)

The incident occurred despite efforts by state officials to improve security after a backup computer tape was stolen from a state intern’s car last year. The tape included sensitive personal information from more than a million individuals, businesses and entities such as local governments.

Porker of the Week: Department of Job & Family Services

Last week, ODJFS Director Helen Jones-Kelly asked the Ohio Senate Finance and Financial Institutions Committee to allow families earning 300 percent of the poverty level to buy into the state's Medicaid program.

Clearly, there are unanswered questions in this issue. This article doesn’t provide any information apart from the denial of political motivation. So...why DID she authorize the check? Are we to assume that if we make a statement, or query a leftwing DhimmiRat candidate, over policy and plans that we will be subjected to review by bureaucracies that may or may not have anything to do with us?

Chilling implications in this one...

Nixon followed LBJ and he was a piker next to LBJ as well. I remember how outraged the Dems were when they found out that Nixon taped conversations in the oval office, but he was not the one who had recorder installed. When the LBJ tapes came out there was nary a peep from the same people who were outraged by the existence of the tape recordings by Nixon, When the LBJ tapes became public, they were precious glimpses into historical legacy.

Prior to the 8/08 stolen flash drive ...

NBC 4 Investigates Stolen State-Owned Computers

Wednesday, May 14, 2008 - 10:09 AM Updated: 12:04 PM

EXCERPT

The problem isn’t new. It’s just getting worse.

Four months before the now-infamous state intern vehicle break-in, Target 4 questioned what the state was doing to protect state-owned equipment and data.

At the time, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services led state agencies in computer-related thefts.

In the course of three years, the agency had lost a total of nine laptops, three desktops, a tablet PC and a hard drive – one device contained Medicaid information on 20 people.

“As long as we continue to lose them, then I think we need to look at methods to improve the deterrence,” said Robert Ferguson, Deputy Director of the ODJFS Office of Chief Inspector.

Fifteen months later, NBC 4 came back to find ODJFS has lost five more laptops, a desktop and a flash drive. Two thefts took place inside employees’ cars. One laptop was stolen in a home burglary.

Amid questions from the media and others about “Joe the Plumber,” Jones-Kelley said she approved a check to determine if he was current on any ordered child-support payments.

More Kudos to Joe. Joe in fact was current on child support. He clearly is a stand up guy who owns up to his responsibilities. I guess the MSM forgot about that part too. And Jones-Kelley is a phoney.

It's apparently only illegal to look-up Democrats. I remember earlier this year someone being fired for looking up tax information using IRS computers, but I can't remember who it was. In any event, if this P.O.S. and her subordinates looked up Joe the Plumber without cause, they should be fired. If they gave information to any outside source, they should be prosecuted.

Part of the point that I was trying to make was that there has been a double standard of behavior for the two political parties for a long time in regards to the issue of privacy. I don't have a problem with the WH being taped either, but I do have a problem with the Dems finding it offensive and outrageous when it was Nixon, when they had been doing the same thing for years.
Because the members of the GOP for years have found jobs outside of the government to be ideologically preferable to being a government employee, our bureaucracy is filled with Democrats. It is a basic difference in the basic outlook of of a Dem versus a GOP. So, unfortunately, we have a system that is always stacked against us if there is a way to use the bureaucracy to invade our privacy.

They didn't just find it outrageous and offensive. They found it illegal. Which it was then and still is now.

I agree with your point on the double standard thing, though.

I'd've thought that's why we have law enforcement. To take the politics out it.

Note to law enforcement: Silly me :(
