Details? What would make it illegal? The ad Fox mistakenly ran was not a McCain ad at all, but was made by the American Issues Project, an independent group. Nothing illegal about it (unless you accept the unconstitutional do-gooderism of our candidate). But Bambi sicced his lawyers on the group and threatened TV stations that ran it and asked the DOJ to get on it.
IOW, it is a truly great ad!

Slanderous or libelous ads would indeed be illegal. I don't believe that we have had criminal libel or slander in this country. If we do, who is the last person sent to prison for this sort of crime?
