Even Female Conservative Pundits Embrace Palin Bashing
Pajamas Media ^ | October 28, 2008 | Pam Meister

For a number of weeks now, conservative Beltway insiders Kathleen Parker and Peggy Noonan, among others, have narrowed their sights not on the Democratic candidate for president, but the Republican candidate’s running mate. Sarah Palin has brought out something in them that rivals the ‘80s sitcom Full House when it comes to the shudder factor.

Why beautiful, accomplished women like Parker and Noonan would join the MSM pile-on of the beautiful, accomplished woman from Alaska is, on its face, confusing.

But for anyone who knows anything about how DC works, maybe it’s not so confusing after all....

I don’t know about those referenced in your post, but I do know that in general it takes a very secure woman to embrace Sarah Palin. The ‘mean girls’ competitive spirit among women often continues through old age. Those who don’t subscribe are in the minority.

I don’t think it’s anything that can be changed because it seems to be female nature.

There is a way of presenting the facts without being catty but everyone I’ve seen has to be catty - making such comments as “We have readers who want to know how to copy Sarah Palin’s hairstyle..well, it’s kind of a messy updo...”.

Messy. Honestly. I’ve never seen Sarah’s hair messy, not once.

Sarah’s a big hit in Ohio with her beautifully kept updo.

Hmph.

That’s not a recent picture of Kathleen. And Peggy should sue her plastic surgeon.

I think it comes down to check one thing: ABORTION.

I think these women are so over-ridden by guilt over their abortions. They resent the fact that she is so prolife that she even gave birth to a DS baby when so many of them “chose” to abort perfectly healthy children.

There is something to the issue of repaaling the women’s right to vote.

I suspect that Parker and Noonan are much more interested in being thought well of by the chattering class they care about the direction of this country. Peggy Noonan is especially disappointing, although she has been sliding towards disappointment for the past several years.

This is right on the money. And the contempt they exhibit toward Sarah Palin is the same contempt they extend to the rest of us. In her review of Christopher Buckley's book Supreme Courtship Kathleen Parker is stunned at Buckley's prescience in creating a main character who is nearly the mirror image of Sarah Palin and who is very popular with the people in the flyover. I don't recall the exact words she used to describe these people (us), but I'll bet she crinkled her nose as she wrote them.

Parker, Noonan, Buckley, etc. can have their place in the oligarchy, and they can also shove it where the sun don't shine.

Vichy Republcians...exactly, they are more then willing to back stab Governor Palin in the middle of a campaign, they are Collaborators with Obamao whether they will admit it, or not.

I sort of liked Peggy Noonan though, she had an interesting style of speaking, but alas...verbal head-shavings are in order for the Fmr Reagan Speech Writer....

Good bye Peggy, good bye Kathleen

But I do wonder what they'll have to say when Sarah Palin is elected Vice President. No doubt it will be an uncomfortable moment for them.
But in the immortal words of Kramer: "C-c-c-c-cat fight!"

The article by Kathleen Parker attributing McCain’s selection of Palin to sexual attraction of her was way over the line. It diminished Parker much more than McCain or Palin.

I don’t consider either woman to be a conservative. They are cocktail-circuit Republicans.

They treat Governor Palin as if she wore white after Labor Day and probably view me as an uppity peasant who can’t tell a steak knife from a butter knife.

Sarah Palin: She's intelligent, she's conservative, she's beautiful, she's independent.

You can't just show up in D.C. and expect to be accepted. It's just not done. There's a process. Cocktail parties, hobnobbing, press parties. What's this Palin person thinking just showing up and not trying to make it with the "in" crowd?

Male and female Beltway types detest Sarah Palin because not only is she not "one of them", she's not interested in what they think. Sarah represents the majority of Americans; people who the D.C. insiders would just as soon avoid.

Female conservative pundits are not bashing Palin. Elitist, opportunists like Noonan and Parker, are bashing Palin. They are appealing to their audience, not conservatives.

Anybody who bashes Sarah Palin is on my permanent "ignore" list. Their judgement is so bad I could care less what they say or write.

For Noonan and Parker's opinions to mean something, then someone must give a damn what they say....

I - for one - DON'T.
