DETROIT Kwame Kilpatrick was sent to jail for four months Tuesday for his part in a sex-and-text scandal and the judge chastised the disgraced ex-mayor for arrogance and disregard for the rule of law.
Wayne County Circuit Judge David Groner's sentence was the finale to the scandal that destroyed Kilpatrick's reign at City Hall and threw local government into disarray for months.
"At a time when this city needed transparency, accountability and responsibility, you exhibited hubris and privilege at the expense of the city," the judge said.
He ruled that Kilpatrick not be given an opportunity for early release.
But county sheriff's spokesman John Roach said in a subsequent statement that Groner didn't have the standing to order Kilpatrick not receive time off for good behavior.

Kilpatrick Sentenced to Jail
And watch here as obama heaps praises on the disgraced mayor:
Typical poor judgement !!!!!
After the shame, embarrassment, waste, corruption, expense and incompetence this black clown caused Detroit - he gets 4 months....
Wow - that sure puts things into perspective, doesn’t it..
I’m betting the assholes in Detroit will reelect the clown once he gets out.
Actually - they deserve him...
I just wish there was some way to keep non Detroit taxpayer’s money out of his reach.....
Let them finance their own “paradise”.
The judge commented that the $1 million in restitution wouldn't come close to making restitution.
He took the unusual step of saying that Kwame couldn't get time off for good behavior.
He even demanded that Kwame surrender his law license.
The defense objected that the judge was changing the plea agreement, to which the judge simply asked if they would like to abandon the plea and go to court instead.
The defense backtracked pretty quickly from that and said they would just reserve the right to address that issue on appeal.
Too bad the judge didn't have the balls to just toss out the plea and offer the choice of a just sentence or a trial.
Reszko was supposed to be sentenced today, also.
Anyone have any word on that?

Just wait until January 20 and see how much fun we have. Hopefully, I’ll be out of this once great country by then. Problem is: I’m not sure where to go. Where’s the smart $ going? Hell, I can’t even afford to go to Chicago. And, I’m a communist organizer. OOPPSS. No spellcheck. Wow, are we in trouble if the ONE gets erected.

Finally mentioned he was a democrat in the 16th paragraph. Anyone care to bet how soon Stevens in Alaska was identified as a R?
So Obama’s close associate and ideological counterpart Kwame Kilpatrick is jailed. This won’t make the 5 o clock news.
But Ted Stevens, a man in no way associated with McCain and his ideological opposite, will make the news.
I wathced the procedure on TV this afternoon and as the Judge read the charges the smug xxxxxxx shook his head no and mouth little comments at the judge. He showed no remorse and he and his father are still in denial. The feds are investigating his father for something now as well.
The prosecutor is still examining further charges on misuse of his city credit card and he has a civil trial coming up brought by the girl’s family that was killed after the “non-party”.
Also, there are many civil cases against him by city members.
I FORGOT, DID OBAMA KNOW HIM??????? ha,ha
Am I the only one how thinks that there is ANOTHER scandal with this guy?
Specifically — have you ever seen anyone get as big as this gut is without using STEROIDS?
To my eye — this guy looks like he has been hitting the “juice” bar big time... wonder if the feds have looked into it all...
120 too few!
