Shocking only to Rasmussen.
Get rid of the oversampling and selective methodology, McCain is probably up 3-4 nationally.

He’s only down by 3 nationally, while Ras’ battleground numbers still have 0bambi up by 5-10 in swing states. Since states numbers usually lack the national poll by 1-2 weeks, it means the numbers will show up nicely for McCain by Nov 4.

This is the time for you to convince anyone you know that is voting for a third party candidate as punishment to the RNC that the stakes are too high to be that dumb in this election.
Help drag John over the finish line. Rush should push this on his show today and tomorrow.

Two weeks before an election, the polls report what they want. Going into an election, though, they have to report something close to the truth.
Two weeks out, there is no objective data, so they can’t be “wrong”. But if they are “wrong” on Election Day, people will remember that, and it will effect their future credibility.
Since they can’t report a 16-point shift the day before the election, the report it six days before the election, and hope nobody notices.

The polls are all over the place and, as freepers have discussed, it does have to do with race and gender. The demographics sampled can reasonably predict a typical political race with “typical” white male candidates; but in this race, the pollster can miss the person next door who may have met the same demographic sample to be polled but holds prejudicial views for/against blacks and/or women.
As for this race, the range is all over but I’d feel better if McCain were ahead in them once in a while. By tomorrow, we should know.

With Democrat oversampling... McCain is going to pull this off and they know it. They can produce all the polls they want with Obama up by double digits, but it won’t fly come election day.
It’s about time that they started preparing the news media and the left-wing for a big letdown on election day. I’d hate to see any of them jump out a window.

RCP average, of course, still has 0 +6.3 because they still use the disgrace Pew +15. Take it off, and replace Ras’ number with +3, the average will be 4.9. How do you call a presidential race where the average difference in poll numbers is less than 5 a week before the election? According to the Dims and their media minions, electoral blow out with the journalist sleep early on election night.

Anti-War Democrats should not waste their votes for Obama. After all, Obama has this thing in the bag, anyway.
Obama has backed away for his call for an immediate withdrawl from Iraq, and is even talking about increasing troop levels in Afghanistan. Now Joe Biden is saying we will probably be involved in a whole new war within six months of Obama being sworn in. A vote for Obama is a vote for more war.
Now, if Obama needed the votes to beat John McCain, an anti-War Democrat might be justified in picking the more anti-War candidate of the two. But Obama is up by twenty points across-the-board, so there is no reason to pick the lesser of two evils.
Anti-War Democrats should take this opportunity to cast a strong symbolic vote for the only truly anti-War candidate in the race, Ralph Nader. Nader is calling for an immediate withdrawl from both Iraq and Afghanistan, and would reduce the military budgets to the point where fighting future wars is not even an option. Nader would put an end to American adventurism and imperialism, once and for all.
Tell you anti-War friends, don’t waste your vote on Obama. Vote Nader in 2008!
