Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign is allowing donors to use largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor's identity, campaign officials confirmed.
Faced with a huge influx of donations over the Internet, the campaign has also chosen not to use basic security measures to prevent potentially illegal or anonymous contributions from flowing into its accounts, aides acknowledged. Instead, the campaign is scrutinizing its books for improper donations after the money has been deposited.
The Obama organization said its extensive review has ensured that the campaign has refunded any improper contributions, and noted that Federal Election Commission rules do not require front-end screening of donations.

As I understand it, you cannot activate a prepaid credit card without supplying a Social Security Number. It’s in the Patriot Act, I believe.
It wouldn’t hurt for Smilin’ John to bring up the fact that Barry Hussein is buying this election with untraceable credit cards from abroad. This, after the liar said he would abide by the McCain/Feingold campaign finance law. (That certainly worked out well for McCain, didn’t it?)
These contributions are traceable through the actual credit card number. Each credit card number is attached to the cardholder’s name. Unfortunately,(well, fortunately really) that probably requires a warrant. With the leftists that pass as judges these days, that’s not going to happen.

It seems like a read somewhere that there are many with odd amounts, such as $49.63. That would mean that this was foreign money which had to be converted to US Dollars.
McCain should say: BO is a liar, he is untrustworthy, and he is now taking illegal contributions from Mr. A. Hitler of Berlin, Germany (according to National Review, as of this writing)

McCain needs to BLAST Obama on this. Tell the public Obama is accepting contribution from terrorists. Obama lied about taking Public Financing and now he is cheating the system by making it untraceable and unaccountable.
That’s an interesting observation.
Really, I do not understand why the media is covering this now, this late in the campaign. I can only speculate that they believe that Obama is so far ahead that the coast is clear and they can now sprinkle in a few of these articles so they can have political cover when the inevtiable MSM backlash comes.
Hussein pledged to take public financing, but like the rest of his pledges, that meant nothing. He knows the bulk of his contributions are illegal, mostly from foreign terrorists. He should be prosecuted!

I would also like to point out that the two most important things to a fund raiser are:
#1 Cash in the bank.
#2 Your donor list.
The donor list is as important as the cash in the bank because this then becomes your mailing list of proved sources of money when next you need it.
Organizations even pay money for valid mailing lists.
Therefore, it is obvious that hiding a donor list or refusing to allow one to even exist is proof that the BO fund raisers are engaged in a dishonest practice and that they know it is dishonest.
Actually, that’s basically true. When merchants check your ID or make you sign the receipt, they’re basically wasting your time and their own.
I believe the lobster snack has been debunked and the NY Post has retracted the story.
Real credit cards are not the focus.
I go into a drug store and buy a VISA cash card using cash (anonymously). Then I go to a cafe and use the WiFi there to make a donation using the VISA cash card and making up a name and address. The cash card clears. There is no way of knowing who purchased it. The only thing you can possibly know is the IP from where it was sent but so what-that doesn’t tell you anything.
The McCain campaign rejects such donations. Obama’s does not. They are totally untraceable and totally nonrefundable, despite what the Obama campaign says.
There are also indications that these cash cards were purchased in foreign currency as well and then donated using U.S. donor names and addresses because there are something like 37,000 unrounded donation amounts ($212.68, e.g. rather than $200.00) and that is extremely rare.

A line of BO...errr...BS. Why do so many online retailers have a warning about credit card transaction - that if the name and billing address do not match what is on file at the issuing bank, the transaction likely will not go through?
Obama’s campaign is yet again trying to cover for illegal activities within his organization. This is just the tip of the iceberg, and a tiny taste of what is to come under an Obama presidency.
Add up all the money that Obama has raised in the USofA. Then divide it by the entire population of the USofA aged 18 and above.
What’s that number?
Then there’s the $3.3 Million from abroad.
Figure it out and it spells . . . FRAUD; but who’s checking on the Obamessiah?
