Unseasoned? As oppossed to being “seasoned” as governor of Massachusetts, the most liberal state in the country?

Romney is the only candidate nobody could find any dirt on except that he had a bunch of houses.

You don't consider flip-flopping on multiple issues to be dirt? Or telling boldface lies to be?

overall....I think we should move away from constant crucifying of other Republicans......Romney has done some good things...we can hardly blame him for his hired help.....

what has this constant crucifying of Pub candidates gotten us?...I'll tell you....a Rat controlled Senate and Congress...

there are number of freepers who will not vote for this Pub or that Pub because of one thing or another, and all that does is ensure more rats in office...

for sure, our Primary system needs fixing....that's where we can make the most difference....

ONWARD TO VICTORY!

You're living in a fantasy world if you don't think Madden is acting on Romney's behalf..

BINGO. These disgusting, venal attacks are from MythROMNEY and Mr. Romney's "Harpies of Hate" against Gov. Palin.

"You will embrace this rebellion. Support it, from our lands in
the north. I will gain English favor by condemning it and
ordering it opposed from our lands in the south. Whichever way
the tide runs, we will rise."

“Country-club Republican” condescension is NOT an endearing quality. RINOs that practice it are not likely to be at the center of republican operations next cycle.

He won’t run because McCain is going to win and Sarah Palin will be the nominee as sitting vice President.

You would think that thought would occur to some of these people.

Note, too, that Madden's perspective is strictly that as a journeyman insider male hack.

Journeyman in that he is for hire and currently without a position. He doesn't care about ideology, otherwise he'd heed the Reagan Commandment. Nope, he's out there pimping his "expertise."

Insider because that is how he's analyzing Sarah, the consummate outsider - thus Madden's gross error. Kevin is talking news cycles, assuming this is a bad story and that making lemonade is not possible. Totally inside-the-beltway analysis and no clue as to how Sarah's message is resonating with Joe and Jane Everyman.

Male because he completely misses how the attack was viewed by women in the first place. Madden is completely mired in the self-reference criterion.

Hack - well, that's obvious, isn't it?

And I would add that if he had the ability and/or the willingness to play Hardball, and had any killer instinct whatsoever, he would’ve beaten McCain

Did you pay any attention to the primaries? I was in Iowa visiting relatives before the primaries there in December. Romney went negative with ads before any other candidate did. And, obviously, ran more than any other candidate. That's why McCain and Huckabee hate Willard.

This looks like more disinformation to fracture the GOP.

Of course it is...

Every other story, the same folks trash it as MSM garbage...This story, of a FORMER staffer, is pounced upon, just cause it's Mitt Romney...

Reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode... Where these martians play with humans, and get them to beat up and kill each other... All they'd do, unbeknownst to humans, is shut off lights interittently, honk the horn, little things that set people against each other as mobs (thinking that THEY were in fact monsters in disguise)... They just go from town to town, tearing up the community, by they're petty sniping ways

The MSM's trying to do that to us, and these folks fall for it.

MADDEN: Look, that is why people who have done this before, people who have run national campaigns, always tend to look at prospective V.P. candidates, and they’re the ones that are nationally vetted, the ones that have been governors on the scene for a long time, the ones that have been — gone through the scrutiny of the national press corps in Washington. And that’s exactly what has happened here, is that, when you put out an unknown and you give them 70 days with which to go through a vetting process, both by voters and the national press corps, ugly things can tend to happen.”

******

Madden may be publicly on someone else’s payroll, but given that statement there’s no doubt who he’s working for. Romney’s another Vichy, only difference being he can use his underlings to do his dirty work.

"What an absolutely pathetic post. Sarah Palin is in a neck-and-neck race to be the next VP of this country and all you can do is say, "Sarah Palin is still the Governor of Alaska and will remain until 2012".

What are YOU implying?? If elected, McCain/Palin would be challenged by Mitt Romney and attempt to overthrow a Republican Administration in 2012? The argument is that Romney supporters are torpedoeing Palin's chances at a repeat in 2012 if Obama wins next week.

Madden is a longtime Republican political/media pro who was on Romney’s payroll for a short time. He is not a Romney insider and had no prior ties with Romney. To try to tar Romney with ANYTHING Madden now says is ridiculous.

This is from Madden’s online bio:

Prior to joining Governor Romney’s campaign, Madden served as Press Secretary to House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) and as Communications Director to House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX). In that capacity, Madden served as the top communications strategist for the House of Representatives leadership office charged with directing legislative action on a wide range of issues including financial services, energy, national security, legal reform, transportation and telecommunications policy among others.

Before his work as a top leadership aide on Capitol Hill, Madden served as the Department of Justice’s national spokesman on issues ranging from national security to litigation before the federal courts.

During the 2004 presidential campaign, Madden was a member of the communications team directing President George W. Bush’s re-election effort, serving as the president’s campaign spokesman for regional, national and international news organizations.

Mr. Romney ONLY has been successful when he has used the teat of the American taxpayer.

Romney destroyed the economic miracle of Massachusetts
BEFORE he tanked the state with his socialized medicine.

Romney wiped out Massachusetts.

The five states with least favorable business climates are Califorinia (lowest ranking), New York, Michigan, New Jersey and Massachusetts.

Romney was rated a "C" overall by Cato. Here are the facts.

As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal.

Yeah, I’m not ready to pin this on Mitt but it might be helpful if Romney made it clear Madden was no longer speaking for him. But I will be looking for the name Kevin Madden on the Ohio state compu... strike that, :) Looking for him on the campaign staffs in 2010 and 2012, ready to remind the candidate what a lousy choice of spokesperson that would be. Let Madden go work for a RAT.

Oh my goodness. Willard went negative in the primaries. You sound like a Democrat whiner.

Sarah is on the verge of becoming VP. Romney will get some job in the McCain administration and that will be that for him. Sarah is the heir apparent to the Oval Office.

I agree entirely! We need to win. This year is a straight ticket year. What has gotten us a Rat controlled Congress is failing our principles and refusing to fight face to face with our opponents. They call us to task when we call them out as being unpatriotic and those of us on our side say it is unfair. We call them out on their radicalism and those on our own side run interference. The left doesn’t have that problem, they understand what they are fighting for. We all need a bit of that clarity.

The anti-Palin RINOs are the ones trying to fracture the GOP even if it hurts the chances of McCain winning.

The dimocRAT Underground website obviously has nothing on ignorance. The anti-Mitt replies in this thread are pure ignorance and rival anything in the DU website.

Mitt has worked hard in campaigning for the McCain/Palin ticket. I'm beyond words to describe the hate and BS in this thread. Some of you live in the gutter.
