Retired general claims Obama would not get security clearance
Richmond Dispatch ^ | 10/29/08 | Tyler Whitney

Posted on 10/29/2008 12:17:33 PM PDT by pissant

A retired Army general said today at a news conference sponsored by the Republican Party of Virginia that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama isn't qualified to be Commander-in-Chief of the United States because he couldn't get top secret clearance.

Jerry Curry said Obama's past association with former anti-war radical William Ayers would prevent him from getting security clearance.

Curry, who is an African-American, spoke at an ethnic outreach news conference at the Bell Tower in Capitol Square.

If Barack Obama had been commander-in-chief of the forces in the Revolutionary War instead of George Washington "we'd still be a British colony," Curry said.

Ayers was a founder of the Weather Underground, which set off explosives in the U.S. Capitol in 1971 and the Pentagon the next year to protest the Vietnam War. The organization warned people to evacuate the buildings, and no one was injured.

A fact-check story from The Associated Press reported that: "In 1995, Ayers hosted a meet-the-candidate session at his home for Obama as he prepared to run for the state Senate. Later, the two worked with the same charity and social-service organizations in Chicago.

"Obama has tried to minimize his link to Ayers, at one point saying he was just a guy who lived in the same neighborhood.

"But while there was more to the relationship than that, there is no evidence they were ever close friends or that Ayers advised Obama on policy. Obama has denounced Ayers' violent activities."

Someone please post that Google map image of 0bama’s neighborhood, including nearby Rezko, Farrakhan and Ayers residences.

Isn’t this just a corker...The President of the United States and Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces couldn’t get a security clearance?

How weird is this life becoming?

Retired General Curry has confirmed what I have believed to be true for a long time now. Our son who was in the military, and had received the highest security clearance one can get, had told me that there was no way in hell Obama would be able to receive that security clearance. Background checks are intense, and Obama’s background should put him on the “terrorist watch list”, not the security clearance list.

You know, I believe your son is right. Unfortunately for America, Colin Powell’s endorsement probably trumps whatever General Curry has to say. This sucks.

No white person who hated blacks could be President either. It just would not be tolerated. But look! Obama was a member of a church that hated white people and Jews. He just does not belong as president of the USA.

I’ve actually done background investigations in the Air Force (AFOSI) and can say that there would be enough in his background that he wouldn’t be considered for a CONFIDENTIAL, much less TOP SECRET and beyond.

We're not talking endorsements here. We're talking about the rules and regulations related to getting a top secret security clearance. Besides a birth certificate they want to interview all of your family, friends... Probably a polygraph also.

Unfortunately standards have decreased lately and according to experts in the field, he would get a clearance. In the past he would have been denied. A damn shame that a self proclaimed Socialist might get the keys to the kingdom....

ON THE COMING CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS (Why McCain needs to win)
This was sent to Rep Judy Biggert (R-IL-13) last week:

Dear Rep Biggert:

There has been a troubling lawsuit, now dismissed, in Pennsylvania that attempted to clarify the citizenship and eligibility for the Democrat candidate who is running for President.

The courts have thusfar ruled that the US citizen who brought the case does not "have standing" in the court. The question needs to be asked 'Who has standing to challenge the eligibility of a Presidential candidate?

From what I can tell, the determination of eligibility happens at the Elector College step. In this current campaign, if the Democrat challenger wins, there will be a constitutional crisis the likes we have never seen.

In response to the lawsuit, the DNC was joined. A spokesman from the DNC to the court admitted, on the record, that if the true birth and citizenship information was made public, it would be "embarrassing to the candidate".

Maybe the data is embarrassing, but that should be far secondary to finding out if the candidate is truly eligible to serve.

Please promise that if the Democrat candidate is elected, the eligibility challenge will get a fair hearing at the Electoral College step. I believe Sen. McCain can win, but if the opponent wins, this country is in real trouble of we have a leader who is ineligible.

Many Democrats still hold a grudge saying that President Bush is STILL ineligible based on the 2000 vote. The "native born" issue is far more problematic.

Good luck in the election - you have my support.

Again, please promise to challenge eligibility at the Electoral College step if we get that far.

Best regards,

S.....

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This guy could not pass a simple security clearance much less pass a vetting process for the office of President. All of these "dismissed" lawsuits should be used at the Electoral College level (per the Constitution) to prevent him from taking office. Who dares to "speak truth" to this phony and his ill-gotten power?!?!?!

Now the Repubican Governor of Hawaii sealed Barry's birth records until after November 4 - that was why he flew to Grannie's side.

Oh, I don’t know about that. Powell was hated by the left, and then hated by the right. I don’t think his endorsement gave Obama the “bump” he had hoped for. But yes, it still “sucks”.

Heck, Obama couldn't even join the military, let alone get a clearance. He'd have to present a birth certificate or proof of naturalization to enlist or be commissioned.

"Isn’t this just a corker...The President of the United States and Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces couldn’t get a security clearance?

This brings forth the obvious question: How does one COMMAND the armed forces if one doesn't have the clearance to know what is going on?

IF he wins, and IF they make an exception and give him clearance to know all of our secrets...how long will it be before osama bin laden knows those secrets?

Remembering back to when I joined the Air Force 01/64, we had to answer pages of questions about our PAST and our ASSOCIATIONS before we even got IN the USAF, never mind learning any systems. I remember the John Birch society being on there, and the KKK, and many others.

So, if those ASSOCIATIONS would have prevented me from joining the USAF, how the hell can associations with Ayers, Wright, et al allow Hussein Obama to be President?

After being trained on the systems I worked on, and got a Secret clearance (not a TOP Secret, but a step below), I got letters from family and friends telling me about people coming around my home town asking about me and my past...I think they call it "vetting" now.

Now, if they were that careful then about a 18-year-old joining the military, they should be at least that careful now with worldwide terrorism in our midst.

I think this whole obama thing is coming unwrapped. People are shaking their heads and saying, "How the hell did we get to the point where someone obviously so DISqualified to be president, is this close to getting there?

Have we all gotten to the point where we think the Founding Fathers, the wars, and the sacrifices this nation has made was just a mini-series?

Has the slavery guilt-trip erased all of our pride as a nation. Many, many things - good things - have happened in this nation. The thousands of people who died for our freedoms endured the ultimate sacrifice, just as many slaves did. Those who perpertrated slavery were few in number and most did not mistreat them.

To hear the liberals talk, they would say that the only history we have is slavery. That is bull$h!+ and is used to guilt trip us all into another form of slavery...keeping the left in power. There aren't any cotton fields anymore, but the left are the modern day carpetbaggers and they still want 40-60% of our "pickings". It's ironic that our paper money contains 'cotton'.

A president without a security clearance...Mr. Ripley is turning over in his grave.

‘Top Secret’ Clearance - No way
‘Secret’ Clearance - No way
‘Classified’ Clearance - Probably not

This brings forth the obvious question: How does one COMMAND the armed forces if one doesn't have the clearance to know what is going on?

The President is not subject to the background check rules. As the elected head of the Executive Branch, he has the legal power to obtain access to any document or information, no matter how highly classified. The vote of the American people (no matter how foolish) is the only background check required.

I don't know whether Obama would meet the requirements for a security clearance, but it's irrelevant- if he is elected President, he will have access to any and all information. President Bush does not have a security clearance, and neither did any President before him.

Which is as it should be- we the people select our President. The President needs to have access to all documents and government secrets, so any laws regarding security clearances simply do not apply to him.

Finally, someone has said something in public about this.

In case you didn't’ know...the security background check goes even as far as your parents associations.

I don't think Clinton could have gotten clearance either for his trips to Russia.

This cretin has lots of problems:
- Socialist / Marxist
- Fails security clearance
- Not able to prove citizenship let alone origin of birth
- Abuse of power through surrogates in illegal investigations
- Outright liar
- Multiple questionable associations
- Etc.

While I agree with the general and all, we are all in agreement, unfortunately he’s forgetting one thing.

As soon as Obama takes office, he’ll start purging the military and replace key leadership with his loyalists. Gaining control over the military, agencies and courts is a top priority. They will in turn continue the purges (replacements, reassignments, etc) until he holds all the power.

They will do this legally or illegally, it won’t matter to them. And his operatives throughout the government will be rapidly assisting him in making it happen. Orders will magically appear or become “lost”. You know the drill.

The same thing with all the key three letter agencies.

The same thing with the courts.

This is how he quickly consolidates power and suppresses all opposition. Simply the old Marxist play book.

It will piss people off, but not enough to cause a civil war. It will just happen - before we know it. Although he will be pushing up against the limit of tolerance of those who safeguard our liberties, and he will seriously risk a military coup aided by key three letter agencies.

This phase will be his hardest hurdle, but the Obama-Ayers Operatives are determined by using the power of a super majority in congress to clamp down and control those who would object.

Once they consolidate power, then its basically screw you. They will do whatever they want leaving you only to howl in your impotent rage.

In every nation that has ever been taken over by totalitarian Marxism there was one thing in common - the citizenry simply didn’t believe it could or would happen.

Chuckle...I remember the FBI coming to my door to ask me about my neighbor for his 'background check.' You couldn't imagine the questions that were asked, and this was during the Clinton years when security was, ahem, rather lax.

O'Bumbling would never, ever pass the check.
