This is nothing. Did Mccain praise this man, eat dinner with him and tell him what a great influence he was to his thinking? No way. This is a lame attempt to blunt the impact of this tape. Nice try.

International Republican Institute
International Center for Economic Growth (ICEG)

If McCain went to dinner with the guy and his wife and talked world strategy, THEN it might be comparable.

This is desperation.

The absurdity and bogus nature of this attempt to confuse is the language “McCain led Group” used in the press release. Ridiculous. How could McCain run this out of the senate?

This outfit is a private entity that doled out money to various groups.

McCain has a very long record supporting Israel.

It would seem to me that McCain learned his lesson since then. This report says McCain was the chairman so I’m sure the comparison of the organizations/people McCain’s group funded vs. what Obama, as chairman of Annenberg Challenge and Woods Foundation, and his bud Bill Ayers funded, don’t even come close to “bad choices.” ALL of Obama and Ayers choices were bad.

So Jose, you don't think that Americans should know that Barack hangs out with jihadist sympathisers who are bashing Israel while America fights jihadists?

Would you care to explain that to me?

The IRI is funded by US tax dollars. They’ve given to over 100 countries. The purpose is to expand freedoms so most of the group’s grants and aid could be considered nefarious. It’s mandate is to be there where the ‘bad guys’ are, so to speak.

The left's argument in using this is that Obama just had dinner with a terrorist, whereas McCain funded the terrorist to the tune of half a million dollars. >.<

and they can be told by MSM that the one who financed the org ir worse than the one who went for a 1-evening dinner.

we are doing well so far. the polls show it. lets keep it to security, taxes and joe the plumber. its working so far.

IF the Obama campaign wants to have an 11th hour debate about past associations then I say bring it on punks!

There’s really no comparison here if what we’ve heard about the sequestered tape is true (very likely). There’s a big difference between funding a study of “sociopolitical attitudes” and railing against the existence and actions of an ally. However, until the inflammatory material is shown, it means little.

Sounds like the organization is a polling agency.

“The Center for Palestine Research and Studies conducted regular public opinion surveys in the West Bank and Gaza with financial support from various foundations and from the International Republican Institute, an organization that promoting democracy around the world. McCain was the IRI chairman when it gave $448,873 to the research group in 1998, according to IRI’s tax return.”

Well, I knew you would have no explanation.

But what you or I think really doesn't matter. John McCain and Sarah Palin are demanding the tape. And they will go on doing that until it appears or the election ends. As they should.
