They promised the source they wouldnt release the video. Okay, why not release a transcript? Or do they no longer have the video, and failed to make a transcript at the time? Would that be a kind of malfeasance, or another result of stupid budget-cutting on the news side of newspapers that undermines the value of the product? Or was the reporter too lazy to make a detailed record of his own? Or was he only given a brief look at the video with no opportunity to make detailed notes?
Did anyone say transparency. Why cant they answer these questions?...

Those are rhetorical questions, right? Not holding your breath for answers are you?
This is not hard. The Los Angeles Times is ...
1) a joke outfit of squishy liberals posing as journalists
2) in the tank for Obama
3) total joke with no credibility on any political issue
I read on another thread that the LA Times had to promise not to show it to any Conversative, even one that would be well trusted.
And Joe the plumber has something to say to Obama!

Someone will talk - someday. However, if it’s after 11/4...it may be too late.
When was this interview? Wasn’t Joe supposed to tour with McCain?
Something doesn’t smell right. I think it is a setup for an 11th hour Nov surprise. Stay alert for something from the Obama camp that could be pulled just before election day. The dems ALWAYS do this.
The interview was this morning. Joe was on the campaign trail somewhere, so was on the show from afar. :)
To the LA Times I say you have two choices: you can leave no doubt about your political bias by holding on to the tape, which will cause you to lose huge numbers of readers; or you can keep your political bias somewhat hidden from the mainstream by releasing the tape and your losses will only follow the general trend.
Either way, Obama is going to lose. So why risk the loss of your audience for nothing?
I wonder if Daniel Ellsberg had to promise his employer, the RAND corporation, that he wouldn’t “release” the Pentagon Papers to the New York Times.

Whoever handed the video over to the LA Times must have done it with the intention of hurting Obama politically. My guess is that there are multiple copies and I wouldn’t be surprised if a duplicate was to anonymously appear sometime over this next weekend.
Thanks for the post.
