Why Palin has been vilified...........(vitriolic hatred among liberals)
Intellectual Conservative ^ | October 31, 2008 | Zach Krajacic

Posted on 10/31/2008 10:10:35 AM PDT by IrishMike

Palin stirs up vitriolic hatred among liberals because she is a conservative Christian who practices her beliefs, especially regarding abortion.

If the mainstream media and other liberals are going to continue vilifying Sarah Palin, then they should at least be honest about the reason for their attacks.

Their issue with Palin is not her foreign policy experience. After all, Palin’s critics love Obama, who has about the same amount of foreign policy experience as Palin. Nor do any of them really care about her folksy manner, little winks and moose hunting.

Palin stirs up vitriolic hatred among liberals because she is a conservative Christian who practices her beliefs, especially regarding abortion. She defends the one thing liberals hate the most: life. Carol Fowler, South Carolina’s Democratic chairwoman, expressed the true source of liberal discontentment when she said Palin’s “primary qualification seems to be that she did not have an abortion.” It is Obama’s primary qualification as well, Ms. Fowler.

Yes, there have been other pro-life candidates, most notably Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. But Palin is especially troubling to liberals: she is difficult to combat because, as a woman, she has had the opportunity to truly live the pro-life message.

And she has lived it heroically. By refusing to abort her baby when she found out he had Downs Syndrome, Palin has articulated the value of all human life without saying a word. By supporting – and perhaps influencing – her teenage daughter’s decision to keep her baby, she has taught families how to face life’s challenges with courage, not fear. By demonstrating the value of sacrifice, she has shattered our society’s emphasis on convenience.

She has inspired many Americans to do the right thing in the face of difficult circumstances, and I wonder how many babies will survive simply because of her story. Pregnant mothers who are gripped by fear need courageous and principled role models like Palin. Some of these mothers, upon hearing Palin’s story, will think to themselves: If she can have five children, including one baby with special needs, maybe I can have my baby. If her special-needs baby is a blessing, not a curse, then my special-needs baby is a blessing as well. If her teen-age daughter can have an unexpected baby, then maybe my daughter can, too.

Palin has shown women that strength lies not in license and independence, but in fulfilling one’s duties with grace and courage. The media knows how powerful and transformative her life example is for the conservative movement and how threatening it is to liberalism.

Thus, the media and others have unleashed their fury on Palin, trying to tear her down like no other vice-presidential candidate in recent history. Frustrated by their inability to destroy a woman of character and integrity, they have tried to attack her from other angles. But the attacks will not convince independents to vote for Obama.

The questioning of her foreign policy experience, for example, is futile because Obama has virtually no domestic or foreign policy experience – and no accomplishments. All Palin needs is a trip to Baghdad and a speech in Berlin to match Barack Obama’s foreign policy experience.

The media has even distorted her performance as governor. After suggesting that Palin had a poor record as governor of Alaska, CNN asserted that Republicans will emphasize her populism, not her record. They did not explain, however, how a poor record could translate into an 80% approval rating. When will CNN learn that the American people determine job performance, not their network? After all, the network’s candidates have lost the last two presidential elections.

The media, who have been helping Obama ever since he announced his candidacy, have shielded Obama from a potential backlash on the social issues. Knowing that Obama is particularly vulnerable in this area, the media chose almost no questions about social issues in the debates. They did not want to see Obama bumbling about why he voted to deny medical care to a baby who survived an abortion.

Whether or not the media’s darling, Barack Obama, wins this year’s election, Palin could become president some day. If she does, she has the potential to transform America and become one of the most influential public figures in our nation’s history. A modern day heroine, she could destroy liberalism and turn out to be McCain’s greatest achievement yet.

It’s because she has a (R) after her name. Liberals don’t get much deeper than that.

Very familiar with the way the Leftwingtards hate her. I've had several of them blow up in my presence. Eventually one of them is going to have a cardiac arrest or something else equally horrible.

My question ~ should I call for help or let them pass unmolested?

This is a tough question so take your time.

Coming from a rural area and having a twenty year background of dealing with environmental and leftist groups, I would disagree. They have vilified and denegrated traditional and rural culture and world view becuase it is fundamentally in conflict with their own view. Palin does come from a culture of strong traditional/Christian morals and values - not cultural relativism. However, she also comes from a world view steeped in individualism. She believes in the American tradition of protecting freedom for the individual to pursue his own hapiness and craft his own destiny. She believes in smaller and more localized government. Her worldview is positive and expansive - full of opportunity and an open horizon, while the liberal view is a constricted zero sum game populated by victims and corporate perpetrators, dependents and big government nannys.

Our ruling elite haven’t prepared us for the slaughter yet.

We still, as a free people, believe in the right to keep and bear arms.

We still, as a free people, believe in private property rights.

And we still, as a free people, refuse to surrender our national sovereignty over to the United Nations.

Vote for John McCain/Sarah Palin this Tuesday.

If the mainstream media and other liberals are going to continue vilifying Sarah Palin, then they should at least be honest...

???

The MSM being who they are, why on earth would you expect them to be honest about anything? It's unlikely that they're even honest with themselves about their hatred for Sarah.

And being honest is never an "at least", in my book.

I would wager that most of the liberal women who hate her have had one, two or more abortions themselves, and aren't about to be reminded that they may have done anything wrong, like kill another human being. The hate is a protective mechanism from guilt associated with their own personal failures. When I see the hate emanating from another woman towards Palin, I immediately think that woman has probably made several extremely poor choices in her past and is about to make another in her choice for President.

I have a question. I was down at my father-in-law’s last evening and he is disgusted with Palin because he said that the pipeline will never be built becasue Palin didn’t go with the lowest bid, she let it to a pal. What is he talking about? He is a lifelong republican and I was surprised to hear him say that. He was very agitated about her. ??????????

Thanks for posting, great article. Throughout this entire campaign she has shown a lot more “take off the gloves” initiative than McCain, which has frustrated me. Since she joined the ticket however, it has motivated me to pay attention to this campaign even more. I would’ve still voted McCain just because Barry Sotoro is horrible, but with Palin on the ticket, it has allowed me to wake from my naps when McCain is speaking.

Actually, Palin and all the oil companies have antagonistic tendencies due to Palin ratcheting up production fees and extraction taxes.

TC was awarded the pipeline contract as they were the only one’s with a complete and on-time bid. They learned their lesson prior to the project bid. They found out that Palin couldn’t be bullied.

Now they “play nice” with Alaska.

The more chilling notion is who are they (feminists, NOW nags) to dictate over what Governor Palin does with her unborn child?

If these folks could, they would kill every defective, unwanted, supposedly imperfect unborn child until they have a child that meets their specifications. This sounds familiar... where have I heard of this before?

Before anything else, ask them if they would prefer you treat them to capitalist medical care or nationalized (socialized) medical care like Obama and the Democrats want. Make them choose, since you’ve heard “they’re all about choice.” If they choose the former, call 911. An ambulance will arrive shortly, they will receive immediate treatment, be rushed to a hospital to be tended to by the best doctors in the world, and their life may likely be saved. If they choose the latter, give them a cigarette, light it, tell them it’ll just be too expensive to save them, thank them for thinking of the State’s budget, and walk away.

AFTER the election, no matter the outcome, I think we should name a "hit politician" of the week. Freepers would do research (on and off the internet) regarding this person, dredging up old news on them as well as new stuff, and just drag their reputations through their own mud and slime.

We'd need good URLs for all the factoids of course, or personal testimony (and FR does, of course, have your valid email addresses and you can be contacted).

My first choice is Senator Carper, Democrat from Delaware. You hear very little about him but this puke has to have many of the same criminal contacts as Joe Biden.

Let's see what he's been up to and why he skulks around in political darkness. Drag this sucker out into the light of day.

If I remember I'll set up a thread for tagging Carper "out" next week some time. Maybe I can find some news on the guy to start it off.
