ABC News Reporter Jake Tapper's Political Punch Blog has a report on Sen. Barack Obama's push-back on John McCain's description of his tax policies, Tapper begins with a quote from Obama in Florida, here is the whole report:

"The reason that we want to do this, change our tax code, is not because I have anything against the rich," Obama said in Sarasota, Fla., yesterday. "I love rich people! I want all of you to be rich. Go for it. That's the American dream, that's the American way, that's terrific.

I went to 0bama’s tax cut site.

If you are single and make $10K, you get $700+ in a cut.
If you are single and make $25K, you get $400+ in a cut.

The person who makes $25K has to give up $300 for the person making $10K? Does that mean someone making $25K is rich and has to spread the wealth to the person behind them? And that’s selfish? Has he tried to make it on $25K lately?

Why is it that in my state, I see mostly Obama stickers in the driveways of huge homes and mansions and out in the country I see McCain Stickers on the pick-up trucks of “blue collar workers”? I noticed the same during the 2004 election (Bush vs Kerry).

This “rish people vote for republicans” is a myth, atleast in my state. Perhaps it’s because they are so rich that they can afford the accountants to find loop-holes for the taxes that will be raised on them OR maybe they already realize that the democrat’s policy will keep the middle class from being able to move up so easily and they are happy with that because maybe they are elitists. They want to have more than us and they know that voting democrat will keep us down where they want us to remain.

Anybody else notice this?

Ronald Wilson Reagan “ Government’s view of the economy, could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it.If it keeps moving regulate it. and if stops moving subsidize it.”

“John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this socialistic,” Obama continued. “You know I don’t know when, when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness.”

This does not have the full effect without hearing him say it in the tone he used. If you could provide a YouTube video link, that’d be great.

Ever notice that most rich liberals didn’t really earn their money?

I'll betcha most rich liberals don't even pay taxes. They grab income, not established wealth. Good old Class Consciousness. Economic mobility? That's un-American.

The Dem bastards have forked over something like $7 TRILLION of our wealth to other people in the last 45 or 50 years, yet things have not improved. If you total up every single tax I pay, I’ll be I’m forking over 40% of my earned income every year to various governments. And they want us to pay more to prove we are not “Selfish”??

Enforced confiscation of our personal wealth has nothing to do with being selfish.

And don’t forget, it’s been proven time and again that Republicans are much, much more generous with voluntary contributions to charities than Dems.

This is all about higher taxes and making everybody equally poor and miserable.

Selfish???? So now it is not only unpatriotic, racist AND selfish to not want to spread the wealth???

There are a lot of people that fall on hard times and need temporary help. There are multitudes of programs already for this purpose. These folks don’t stay in that mode forever.

But there are a whole lot of people that will take that assistance and make it a way of life. Happily.

But I’m sure Barry knows that.

Are You Going to Help?

There’s still time to help elect John McCain and Sarah Palin. This past weekend, I made phone calls through the volunteer online phone bank. I admit, I was uncomfortable cold-calling complete strangers on a Sunday afternoon. But it was ultimately a rewarding experience. There were people who still claimed to be undecided. There were also several Republicans who sounded like they needed a little encouragement to go to the polls. I like to think I made a difference.

In the middle of the afternoon, I blegged for advice because I was having a hard time talking to answering machines. As I expected, the wisdom of crowds made things much easier.

Please consider making phone calls on behalf of McCain/Palin 2008 in the next few days. The process is very easy. Sign up at the top link above (I’m fairly certain you don’t even have to use a real email addy if you don’t want to get GOP emails) and within minutes the website will provide you with names, locations, phone numbers and scripts. (I think the hours are from 9am to 9pm Eastern.)

You generally get to choose the state you’d like to make calls to, so if you have free long distance like me, you can help out with some of the battleground states. My suggestions are Colorado, Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

I’m tucking some advice from last weekend under the fold. Read it first and then get calling. I challenge each of you to make at least twenty phone calls. It won’t take that long and it may make a difference on Tuesday. I’m going to be calling again this weekend too.

Later: I want to emphasize that you can make calls from the comfort of your own home. This is so easy to do, there’s just no excuse for not helping.

Get the names and numbers from the McCain/Palin website. Call in between loads of laundry. Call while you’re waiting for dinner to be done. Call after you put the tot down for her afternoon nap. Do what I did and call while you’re blogging. I know you guys spend countless hours just sitting in front of your computer. You could use a little of that time to call voters.

Yeah, I'll bet he loves rich people. That's all the more he can soak with his tax increases.

It is understandable that Obama think that making money comes easy when his wife gets a 100% raise a few weeks after he is elected to the Senate and he gets a sweetheart deal on a house courtesy of a convicted criminal.

In fact, life in general must seem like it is easy when you get let into Ivy League schools because of your skin color instead of your grades and SATs.

The socialists pushing for a state income tax in Tennessee said the same thing; that the vast majority of us who opposed an income tax (well over 85% of Tennesseans) were just selfish.

I challenged ANY of them to bring in their 1040 and compare it to mine. If they gave more to charity in dollars or percentage of gross income than me, I would give them $100.

There were no takers.
