Palin Pranked by Sarkozy Impersonator
Washington Post ^ | November 1, 2008 | Mary Ann Akers

Posted on 11/01/2008 4:10:30 PM PDT by Pinkbell

Two well-known Canadian pranksters tricked Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin into thinking she was on the phone today with French President Nicolas Sarkozy. The conversation, captured on a Montreal radio program, was, in a word, embarrassing. (Politico's Ben Smith was among the first to pick up on reports from The Canadian Press.)

The fake Sarkozy buttered Palin up by telling her he hoped she would become president some day. "Haha, maybe in eight years," Palin replied. Then the conversation turned to helicopter hunting, with a mention of Vice President Dick Cheney's infamous bad shot.

"One of my favorite activities is to hunt, too," the fake Sarkozy said. "Oh, very good, we should go hunting together," Palin replied, adding, "I think we could have a lot of fun together as we're getting work done. We could kill two birds with one stone that way."

"I just love killing those animals! Taking away life, that is so fun," the Sarkozy impersonator said.

Palin laughed.

"As long as we don't bring Vice President Cheney," the jokester said. "I'll be a very careful shot, don't worry," Palin said, laughing.

HAHA this is news? Meanwhile Obama's impoverished Aunt turns out to be illegal-- media doesn't care until a British paper digs up the story...

His brother is living in one of the most dangerous places in the civilized world. Check out these YouTube videos of where his brother lives (very bottom).

Um...does anyone might think that might be a National Security Issue? What if al-Qaeda tortures him or something, which they won't because they seem to have an affinity for Obama.

Whatever. The point is, much bigger issues than a prank call to Palin yet, that's all we're going to hear about.

Pranks on Obama:

Spewed racist and anti-American rhetoric at him for 20 years....he never caught on.

Paid for part of his house - he was so gullible, he didn’t even know it!

A terrorist convinced him he was just a professor who lived in the neighborhood - Obama didn’t figure it out.

He was tricked into going to the million man march - funny stuff.

A plumber wordsmithed Obama into looking like a Marxist...which is not Obama at all.

Seven years ago, a radio host fooled him into talking about reparative income redistribution - that was a hoot.

His own Aunt was living on taxpayer money as an illegal alien - Obama was completely unaware of this.

A certain marxist, muslim appeasing thug tricked Obama into campaigning for him - the One could never imagine that 1,500 christains would be hacked to death.

Finally, a senator used veneer teeth and a spray on tan to convince Obama that he wasn’t a no good washed up political hack, who has been on the wrong side of every major issue for 35 years.

Wow, all I can say is watch out for a lot of practical jokes in the White House if he wins. The funniest one involves deportation - real funny stuff.

It doesn’t pass the smell test...Palin’s not going to talk to Sarkozy at this point and Sarkozy wouldn’t call anyone either.

Too stupid.

Palin’s campaign confirmed it is real, “C’est la vie.”.

More importantly why is Wallace passing the phone to Palin without verifying it really is Sarkozy, what idiot would believe the French President would call them on the campaign trail.

Um, she SHOULD have been able to tell the difference after some of the things he said.

Read the transcript.

Hey I think she did fine. She probably thought it was a little odd and went along with it. I don’t see the big deal.

She’s not running for Pres like Obama. He REALLY talks to terrorists...

Actually, I thought she handled it remarkably well. What do you say if you think this is really the French Prime Minister. You laugh politely and move the conversation along. There is a bunch of Obots on the WashPost site posting comments complaining that she doesn't know who the PM of Canada is, but if you read the transcript and listen to the call, it's not clear what the impersonator was saying and it makes perfect sense for Palin to just plow through it as she did and pivot the conversation. Honestly, I don't think she said anything embarrassing. The "Nailin' Palin" thing was hard to understand what he was saying through the thick accent. I can imagine she was just thinking, "okay whatever."

These guys have pranked the Queen, Bill Gates, Jacque Chirac, Mick Jagger, etc. They're good at this sort of thing.

The libtards really are a disgraceful bunch of scum. What a surprise, MSDNC w/Schuster is playing the full prank call on air and laughing about it. I hope the pits of Hell has a good place for all of these people after Tuesday with the awful, disgusting and shameful treatment of this woman.

Yes, she is a dolt! SIX MINUTES of outrageous conversation?

She is just smart enough to read a teleprompter! Any freepers intellectually honest enough to admit how much they'd be making fun of "The One" if he did something like this?

I'm not holding my breath.

She knew it was a joke, but she was stupid enough to go along with it?

Right.

MSNBC has been particularly vicious on this story tonight.

The other networks seem to be overlooking this, because they realize it creates a backlash for Palin.

MSNBC needs to be put out of business in 09 and we need to get really aggressive with their advertisers.

And just how are we to know that Tina Fey wasn’t on the other end of that line?

Thanks, Canada! Stay classy!

yah, like it is more likely that she believed he just called her out of the blue to discuss of all things dick cheney and killing animals? sorry, i dont think palin is that stupid. what is she suppose to do? she went along, had a laugh... this is just the press doing what they do best, bashing palin. you may think she is a dumb woman, but i dont. until i hear otherwise, from palin herself, the media can bite me!

Oh, hon, I think Palin is that stupid. Get used to it.

There were so many red flags in that call IT IS SCARY that she couldn’t figure that out. She OBVIOUSLY did not know she was being pranked.
