Listen, I am not a poll conspiracy theorist. At least I don't want to be. But what the heck? McCain was leading last night suddenly. Now he's most definitely not. What's up with that? I'll tell you what's up with that. I promise you I am not delusional, but: The only poll that matters is real votes. See you on Election Day.

If anything this just shows how worthless the polls are at the moment.
What is the reason? What are the correct numbers? Who knows....but it will all be revealed in a couple of days.

Why did he say this? Who has been contacting him & what have they been telling him? Finally...does this type of stuff effect his polling?
I know it is generally a NO-N0- during a campaign. But I think the McCain Campaign needs to share their internals with us. If there is poll fraud, it hurts McCain with the media spin.
A lot of KOS kids calling him and sending him email threatening him, I bet.
Yep...I don’t ever recall Zogby posting a note like that until McCain had a good day. He must have been bombarded last night / this morning.
Agree 100%. It is impossible for the electorate to change that much in 24 hours.
Yep, funny how DU was having a cow at Zogby’s Friday night poll showing McCain ahead. There were links to some of the posts here last night. I don’t know what if anything was said about his Friday night poll on KOS or Puffington.
It is odd that tonight Zogby tells his blogger “friends” to calm down.

That’s my guess as well. Whether he was reporting what he was actually seeing or just playing with the numbers as a CYA maneuver, he clearly got some ugly feedback. Real horsehead-in-the-bed sort of stuff.
DailyKos and Dummies called him because they went insane about the result that showed McCain was up on Friday night. It is insane that a pollster gets intimidated by delusional left wing lunatics and gives them what they want to see the next day but that is exactly what happened. It is simply impossible for the electorate in the real world to change from +1 McCain to +10 Obama in 24 hours.
The MOE on a single day of the Zogby tracker is +-5, so +1 and -10 can easily happen if the true number is 5 or so. The pollsters know enough math to understand this, they only flog their one-day fluctuations as news to get attention and $$, taking advantage of the mathematically illiterate press and pundits.
They may understand the maths but they don’t seem to understand the meaning of it all. Basically any change within the MOE is no change and should not be commented on.
The pollsters (and not only Zogby) attaches enormous importance to even a part of a percent change in the candidates’ numbers.
That is completely meaningless- statistical noise.
Zog might have received a late night visit from Kampfgruppe Obama’s Gestapo. They probably thought Zog had gone over the top with Friday’s poll.
Apparently.

It’s really worse than that. In the one-day analysis where McCain was up, Zogby said Obama had a “big day that was about to fall off.” HUH? How can you have a big Obama day fall off, then have him actually GAIN several points?
Vote on Nov 4!!!
