The race tightened again Sunday as independents who'd been leaning to Obama shifted to McCain to leave that key group a toss-up. McCain also pulled even in the Midwest, moved back into the lead with men, padded his gains among Protestants and Catholics, and is favored for the first time by high school graduates.

Remember that McCain has a history of being a strong closer.....

he was totally pumped this morning and hammering Obama while keeping that smile, a Reaganesque (well nobody compares, but you know what I mean) mixture of hammering the enemy while still being positive, optimistic and full of energy. This is not Bob Dole.

I’ve never been able to understand why the Jewish vote goes to Dems?

At this moment, Intrade has McCain at a 12.5 percent chance of winning on Tuesday.

Be very wary of exit polls on Tuesday. The MSM lib media will have some trick for us on Tuesday. Phony exit polls, calling states early, faiiling to call states after a Repub had already won. Did freeping Dan Rather ever call Ohio for Bush? I think after 4 years he still did not.

Be prepared. They will feed us some lie to depress our vote.

Be wary of Obama/ACORN/Axelrod manipulation.

Donate, volunteer and GOTV. Vote.

The last time a majority of Jews voted for a Republican was Teddy Roosevelt.

The Irish also used to vote straight Democratic even during the Civil War, but they moved away from the Crats about 40 years ago.

As I posted on another thread, the McCain campaign did an unforgivably poor job of organizing the Jewish vote. For the 1st time since Reagan, this was here for the taking. They also had an unbelievable weapon in Joe Lieberman and even the up and coming Eric Cantor. Joe’s been much less visible in the Jewish circles than I had anticipated he would be and Eric’s been completely invisible. With Nobama’s associations, pro-Palestinian stances in the past, stance against the Iraq war (don’t forget that Saddam was paying $25K for Palestinian to blow up Jewish women and children!), and - in his only vote in which he could profess any stance in the region - vote against labelling the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization, McCain could have aggressively and accurately branded him as no “friend of Israel”. However, the response was disorganized and tepid, thus allowing Nobama to recast himself as a lifelong “staunch supporter of Israel”. After enough repitition - without effective countering - this canard became accepted fact. Even with covert or overt endorsements from Hamas, Hezbollah, Khaddafi, and Iran, McCain did not even effectively bother to drive home the truth.
Not effectively defining Nobama as existentially dangerous for Israel enabled the typical uber-liberal social issues that appeal (unfortunately) to the majority of American Jews to define their view of Nobama. Hopefully, this piece of rank political malpractice on the part of McCain’s campaign advisers won’t come back to haunt him (and us!).

The beauty part is not just the 2.1 percent differnce, it’s that Obama is falling. He’s under 47%, with a big undercided number left, 8.7%!

McCain needs 2/3 of the remaining undecideds to top 50% and win the popular vote (and likely the electorial college), and he’ll get more than that. Very few of those who have resisting the saturation Obama-fest for 2 years, are going to decide vote for him at this late date.

So Soros is manipulating that market too?

RCP used to have a link to all the UK books on one site. the bookies were right on Bush in 2004 and the odds went all over the place when the phony exit polls came out.

Ohio yes, PA no.
It would be the cherry on top to win PA, but McCain doesn’t NEED it.
All he has to do is hold on to the red states of FL, NC, VA, CO, and NV.
Sounds tough, but not really.
Especially considering VA hasn’t been dem in decades, and I doubt a hard left winger with radical beliefs and friends will turn it blue this time.
Demos don’t shift that dramtically in four years from when Bush won.

THIS POLL IS ENCOURAGING!!

The internals of this poll show that 21% of CONSERVATIVE voters are going for Obama. I just find that hard to believe! Are some of them playing with the pollsters?

I was heartened to see that McCain is polling 51% among Catholics. Obama has 38%, and 11% are still undecided. I'm hoping Parishes all over the country will push the need for a 'well informed conscience' this weekend, as opposed to just the 'follow your conscience' idea. Our Associate Pastor did that this morning, mentioning the Right to Life as the most important Right of all.

“The trio of idiots’ (Limbaugh, Coulter, and Levine) chickens are about to come home to roost. “

Don’t kid yourself.

If McCain hadn’t been worried about getting the base to turn out then he would not have picked Palin.

Palin is the best thing to happen to the GOP since Reagan. Even if Limbaugh and Coulter HAD endorsed McCain he still would have lost without her.

I know Levin held out to make sure McCain picked a conservative like Palin and not another RINO. After that, Levin fully backed McCain.

Given that Jews are somewhere around 5% (or less) of the population, the IBD sample of Jews within its tracking poll is tiny; so the 78% figure should not be credited.

Add in the Brady effect too - ie guns. The NRA has been hammering Obama correctly. He is the most dangerous gun banner to ever run for President. We came within one SCOTUS vote of losing the Second Amendment this year. I have received 3 post cards from NRA/Repub Party of FL. My NRA membership expired 3 years ago but I will be renewing. The NRA is probably mailing to 4 million members plus 4 million expired members or non-member gun owners. Gun owners vote.

Obama is lying he is pro-gun and gun owners know it. Bill Clinton and every Dem learned not to cross the NRA and gun owners. Obama must not have gotten the memo.

DO NOT LOOK AT EXIT POLLS AT NOON, are you nuts?
lol
Do you remember Kerry being up TEN POINTS IN TENNESSEE from exit polling at noon four years ago?
There will NOT BE ONE exit poll showing it tight in the afternoon on Tuesday.
I HOPE the media learned it’s lesson from exit polling four years ago, but I know better. Because the exit polls will show Obama leading HUGE on Tuesday afternoone(like with Kerry), the media will be totally unable to contain itself.

The Jewish American population is changing. I’m Jewish and I’ve been living in the New York City area since the early 1980’s. There are no longer any predominantly Jewish neighborhoods inside the five boroughs of New York City where the Jews are either Reformed (non-religious and 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation American) or Conservative (mildly religious and 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation American). Every single Jewish neighborhood within New York City is now either Orthodox, Hasidic, or Russian and Israeli. These Jews are more religious and vote Republican. The Americanized less religious Jews are just liberals who live in the suburbs, eat bagels and lox, pay a fortune for their childrens’ tacky Bar-Mitzvahs, and don’t know anything about Judaism. If you start a conversation with them about the coming of the Messiah, they’ll look at you really funny and say “Messiah? that’s just for Christians”. Most of my relatives are like this. They also know nothing about the Israeli/Arab conflict. It’s really pathetic.

Doesn't matter if he NEEDS it. I want him to get each and every vote he possibly can, so that there is NO QUESTION that he got the popular vote AND the Electoral College numbers. I want Obama left in the dust!

It’s going to be hard not looking at exit poll data for us election addicts. I just hope they are more accurate than 2004. Drudge will get bombarded Nov. 4 around 4-5 PM.

VOTE and bring voters to the polls. Spread the word....
