Redstate.com: Obama wants to reshape the agriculture industry
Redstate ^ | November 2, 2008 | Soren Dayton

Below, Moe writes on some shocking statements by Barack Obama about "bankrupting the coal industry" in order to address global warming.

Obama has it in for another industry: agriculture. Check out these statements from an interview he gave with Time's Joe Klein:

As a consequence, our agriculture sector actually is contributing more greenhouse gases than our transportation sector. And in the mean time, it's creating monocultures that are vulnerable to national security threats, are now vulnerable to sky-high food prices or crashes in food prices, huge swings in commodity prices, and are partly responsible for the explosion in our healthcare costs because they're contributing to type 2 diabetes, stroke and heart disease, obesity, all the things that are driving our huge explosion in healthcare costs. That's just one sector of the economy.

He is blaming our agriculture policy for global warming, obesity, stroke, heart disease, etc.

If he is willing to "bankrupt" the coal industry over global warming, what's he going to do to the agriculture sector which "actually is contributing more greenhouse gases than our transportation sector"?

He's promising far more than anyone could ever deliver and all but his most avid supporters will be enraged at him within a year.

Unless he can convince them that every failure was due to the sabotage of all those white racists in Congress who opposed him at every turn.... do not underestimate the gullibility of some of his supporters.

Where the heck has the GOP been on these issues

Exactly!! Don’t they have anyone that does research??? This if known by voters would kill the one. He scares me to death. Hopefully, there will be enough “conservative” democrats to block his changes for America. In the meantime, we need to email and call Hannity, FOX etc. with the coal story.

We must have central planning! Only smart socialists can save us! /sarc

If Obama's elected, we're one signed executive order away from it, an order he will sign. He's already said he'll have the EPA declare CO2 a pollutant. About a year ago SCOTUS said the EPA has that power. Once the EPA declares CO2 a pollutant, it pretty well has whatever power it wants to use to reduce that "pollution." Since all human activity emits CO2, EPA will have a Supreme Court approved license to regulate all human activity in the US to the extent it chooses. Under the Red Messiah, that will mean central planning and the destruction of the US economy.

To Obama, we are all kulaks, rich peasants that must be destroyed.
And he will do so. Everything he does will be to divide people, create enemies and point to their destruction.

Bingo - he’s learned at the feet of Ayers - right out of the commie textbook.

It worked great in 1930’s Ukraine...

Given his opinion of whitey and the USA, does any of us think that isn't what he really wants to do??

Congratulations (NO sarcasm intended), you really do know your Soviet history. This is exactly what the Red Messiah intends.

Thank you. I was also in Kiev during the Orange Revolution. No matter what anyone tells you, the color of communism is not red; it’s gray.

And one of the largest nations in Europe is still struggling with the hangover.

Don’t most “ag states” have an AM station that does farm market reports and local ag news, etc?
Get it to them, it was on our own WHO, home of Ronald Reagan, just Friday. So, SOMEONE in Iowa knows about it anyway.

He intends to implement every other discredited Marxists policy from the last 100 years. Why not the collectivization of Agriculture?

Every year I grow a favorite kind of melon in my garden that was developed in the USSR: "Collective Farm Woman." In ten years I will have tell people that it isn't a reference to our collective farms here in America.

I’m curious what legislation he would propose to accomplish either of these objectives. No matter what it is, we can now add farm states to coal producing states to the list of Senators and Congressmen who will support him and be thrown out in the mid-term elections. I have absolutely no doubt he believes this garbage, but he is beyond naive if he thinks he can get legislation passed which will bankrupt or harm coal producers or farmers.
