Columbus, Ohio John McCain supporters in Ohio still think he can win the state, but they are very worried about the states problems with voter fraud, and they are surprised the story isnt getting more national attention.
We dont know whether its been stolen already or not, one told me at a McCain rally in Columbus on Friday. Because of ACORN, his companion added.
The supporter, an older gentleman named Lindy Miller, told me that in his hometown, ACORN was caught registering Alzheimers patients at a nursing home. Actually, it wasnt ACORN that registered 95-year-old Mildred Meddock and let her cast an absentee ballot. According to the Columbus Dispatch, it was two Highland County Board of Elections employees the very people who are supposed to be safeguarding elections.
Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, a Democrat, has come under fire for allowing Ohioans to register and vote absentee on the same day, because it encourages unethical behavior and fraud. The state GOP sued to halt the practice, but the courts sided with Brunner. Brunner argued that new registrations will be verified before the final tally and ballots found to be fraudulent will be thrown out.

The FBI is investigating its voter registration efforts in several states, amid allegations that almost a third of the 1.3 million cards it turned in are invalid. And yesterday, a former employee of Acorn testified in a Pennsylvania state court that the group’s quality-control efforts were “minimal or nonexistent” and largely window dressing. Anita MonCrief also says that Acorn was given lists of potential donors by several Democratic presidential campaigns, including that of Barack Obama, to troll for contributions.
Ms. MonCrief testified that in November 2007 Project Vote development director Karyn Gillette told her she had direct contact with the Obama campaign and had obtained their donor lists. Ms. MonCrief also testified she was given a spreadsheet to use in cultivating Obama donors who had maxed out on donations to the candidate, but who could contribute to voter registration efforts. Project Vote calls the allegation “absolutely false.”
She says that when she had trouble with what appeared to be duplicate names on the list, Ms. Gillette told her she would talk with the Obama campaign and get a better version. Ms. MonCrief has given me copies of the donor lists she says were obtained from other Democratic campaigns, as well as the 2004 DNC donor lists.
In her testimony, Ms. MonCrief says she was upset by Acorn’s “Muscle for Money” program, which she said intimidated businesses Acorn opposed into paying “protection” money in the form of grants. Acorn’s Brian Kettering says the group only wants to change corporate behavior: “Acorn is proud of its corporate campaigns to stop abuses of working families.”
Not to mention the bus loads brought in from Alabama.

They did the nursing home thing here in Indiana in 2004. A woman happened to show up to visit her 89 y/o mother and found a Democrat operative going through the home with a staffer having the old folks, including her mother a life long Republican, sign absentee votes that they had already filled out as a straight party democrat. It made big news here locally, but nobody knows how many votes were cast like this.
I am certain that if the GOP base turns out on Tuesday, John McCain will be elected the next president of the USA. In 2004, the Democrats had a record turnout for John Kerry. Additionally, their retention (% of Dems who voted for Kerry) in 2004 was high. Barack Obama will be unable to match Kerry’s turnout nor his retention. Nonetheless, we must turnout heavily and vote for McCain on Tuesday. The MSM is going to spend the next 36 to 48 hours in a masive blitz to convince voters that the issue is decided. They must do this because they know Obama can’t meet Kerry’s turnout/retention. The media blitz will be aimed at demoralizing Republicans. Don’t fall for it!!! Vote on Tuesday as if the welfare of your children is at stake...because it is at stake.
We will prevail!!!
Good, lets keep fraud penalties in the headlines too
After having watched Øbama in Ohio, and todays McCain rally in Scranton Pa, it is obvious McCain is getting specific while Øbama still eludes specifics, the crowd is much more responsive at the McCain Rally too
Family members of residents should be able to have a file saying that they intend to take their loved one to vote or their relative does not have the capacity to vote and, someone taking them to vote must contact them first.
I couldn’t agree with you more! Also, I live in Ohio, in a suburb of Cleveland, and the ACORN story has just disappeared from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Makes me sick. They are so in the tank for Nobama. If Nobama wins in Ohio I will never believe the voter count. Is my vote being invalidated by voter fraud? What can you do? I’ve sent letters, like they would read them!
Doesn't mean a thing and they know it - no one ever actually gets prosecuted.
They had a perfect case for wide publicity on this a week or so ago when 13 of 'bamama's STAFF - LAWYERS ALL = went to Ohio and registered to vote - one did vote.
Who was the sharp oversight outfit that caught them?
NONE.
it was a couple of sharp college girls that are investigating.
So what better high profile case for prosecuting than a bunch of LAWYERS who couldn't claim ignorance of the law.
What happened to them? They were allowed to "withdraw" their registrations and vote. No harm, no foul.
So why should anyone else worry - you cheat and if you get caught, no consequences.
The noise made about prosecuting is nothing bur window dressing to calm the Sheeple down.
They know this - it's deliberate - they've been getting away with it for years - and it will continue. They own the judges too...
JOE-MENTUM!
In the end...this stuff goes on only as long as We the People tolerate it.

Just like we all suffered under Carter. Too bad Bush turned out to be a shrub instead of a conservative.
