While I am confident McCain will come out ahead due to people wising up on election day, even if he were to get all the welfare class out to vote him in he will be in for a big surprise from us with a clue. It’s all about him being black and nothing else right now. How the rats were able to sink the economy with their fannie mae freeloading crowd was clever but will pale in the light we will shine on he and his Marxist roaches.

Take what their scum did to President Bush and square it monthly and you will have an idea what is in store for the left in this country. The heat is on and I’m burning some coal tonight.

but an ad gets on whether the MSM likes it or not.

Well, no, there have been adds this season that the MSM have refused to run. So we can't categorically say an add WILL be seen.

But not only has the McCain/Palin campaign been touting this, at least one PA newspaper has run with it and coal industry officials have made statements condemning his remarks. It's getting out there...

You’re worth it, Travis.

I simply chalk it up to election-time hormones. People don’t want to face the fact that we can still lose.

why isn’t this released until a day before the election? You’d think it’d be worth to analyze every word the guy said in the past 20 years!

I think it was planned this way. A last minute disclosure, with clear Obama audio to back it up - and very little time for the Obama camp to spin it. I think it was done very cleverly.

hey freepers have you seen how fast this coal statement is blazing through both the blogosphere AND the msm?

Is it? I figured the MSM wouldn't touch it. That's great if it's getting reported! Everyone in a coal state needs to know this.

Look on the bright side. If electricity prices skyrocket that will be the end of the stupid hybrid and electric car market.

Hey, I love my Prius! But, it would mean job security for those in the power industry - noncoal, that is.

Oh, that was a joke!!

H.V. Kaltenborn was a conservative radio announcer in the 30s and 40s. In 1936, as FDR was winning the eastern seabord by big margins, Kaltenborn famously predicted that Alf Landon would win once the rural vote came in.

If you’ve heard archival radio announcements with a stentorian, clipped Northeastern accent, you have heard H.V. Kaltenborn.

Coal and steel are UNIONS. They’re irredeemably Leftists.

I'm not naive enough to think we can snatch up votes from the 95% democrat union voters....but I think 5% of them might vote for McCain, along with independents, if they knew Obama's economic plan included bankrupting the coal industry. Enough of these votes could tip a coal-producing battleground state to McCain.

One thing I'm convinced we CAN do without are nattering nay-bobs of negativity on election eve. If you can't bring yourself to be positive about our candidate, or at least neutral, I'd request you refrain from posting until Wednesday.

Anything you say, Mr. Modera -

Oh, you’re not a Moderator?

That’s different, then, isn’t it? Thank you for your opinion.

Comrades,
Under an 0bama presidency, I see a vast black-market coal industry...one where no taxes are accrued by the government.
People will heat their homes with coal...just like the good ole days...

As for Kaltenborn’s mistaken election night broadcast, it is worth remembering that the leading poll relied upon in 1936 predicted the Republican, Kansas Governor Alfred Langdon, would defeat FDR.

The actual election returns were overwhelming in favor of the incumbent Democrat and, afterwards, it was explained that the telephone polling methodology used was flawed in that GOP households were overrepresented in terms of telephone ownership.

The expanded use of unlisted cell phones may have skewed the polls in 2008.

I was being facetious about it being a good thing to kill the hybrid/electric car industry. But not about skyrocketing electricity prices accomplishing that. It would. And there isn't anything that will replace coal's current load of producing 50% of the nation's electricity that won't cause the price to soar.

Don't forget; he's going to replace all petroleum use in ten years. So I guess there won't be any cars then.

This is like the forced industrialization of communist countries in the previous century. Except it's the forced PCness of the U.S. Both had/will have huge ramifications that the people can see clearly, but I guess TPTB are blinded by their own ambitions.
