The Racist Fears of Hollywood Chameleons and Their Ilk

(excerpt)"...Now, the day of reckoning is here; and the results are looming just hours away. Yet, these people who are so skilled at acting and imitating life are worried, and having anxiety attacks..."

----snip----

In this recent article, “Defeat Fears Put Hollywood on Edge,"...the report notes their unrest over the outcome of this election and some of the most vocal of these performers and players give witness to their real convictions...

The article states: “The further Barack Obama edges ahead of John McCain in the million and one polls ...the more pernicious the nagging fear becomes.”

“Barely a left-wing pundit, barely an Oscar-nominated softie can sleep a wink these days for fear of the race riots and international humiliation that will ensue should "The One" be defeated on Tuesday….”

"...If Obama loses, it will spark the second American Civil War. Blood will run in the streets, believe me,"

...Are they admitting to feelings that all Black people are to be dreaded?

Are they admitting that they, themselves, are just "typical white persons," ....

More importantly, are they telling the world that they have a right to report (and be certain) that all Blacks lack total self-control, dignity, decency, and a sense of decorum?

----snip----

"...why shouldn’t we believe that they have no other agenda than to perpetuate the very divisions among races that have been harmful throughout history? They profess to denounce the ugly pigeonholing of people, yet turn right around and tell us to be frightened of those same individuals..."

White Hollywood elites think Blacks are savages who will riot, loot and murder if Obama doesn’t win. Please remind us...just who are the “racists” again?

Hollywood white libs ARE racists. Living in Hollywood, I’ve been to a few sets and ALL/most are white and nary a black, Asian over the set manager designation. The non-whites (Mexicans) are relegated to security while the libs wear their Obama t-shirts. Hypocrites.

Of course their doubting, anyone w/sense would be.

Their careers are going to suffer, I know that I will no longer b their fans.

This country is dividing, and after everything I really dont see how it can/will come together again..Is a sad state, but I know that my eyes have been opened w/this election, have heard many say same. I had no idea some of the things I’ve seen, heard, experienced were going on in OUR Beloved country. Regardless of who wins, there is going to be major fall out.

I agree with you on this one. I worked in Hollywood for 14 years....a few as a commercial producer. My best on set people were not the white self-entitled types. In fact, one of my favorite PAs was this nice-looking black-twenty something guy. The director needed an extra person in a Sega spot and I suggested this guy since he had a wonderful personality. He made the spot and did 5 more spots for Sega, then went on to other work, got his SAG card and never worked as a PA again! I cannot tell you how much grief I got from people who said I should have hired an 'existing SAG member'....which would have put off shooting a whole day. In the end... I knew it had NOTHING to do with any freakin SAG card...

There are plenty of other stories beyond this one. I did notice the hypocrisy and the prejudice was not quite as bad in the commercial world since advertisers want to appeal to a wider audience....there would naturally be a wider range of ethnicities represented....

You might be right, there is some quiet concern among both races, however. The point of the article is that those who have said that they believe that no one should be prejudiced - are the very ones spreading prejudicial fears against just one race --- in public, through reporters...openly professing their racist opinions. They are the Hypocritical Hollywood Hate-mongers!

Absolutely agree. I hate those people: the self-important, union-backing WGA/SAG/whatever union white liberals. They’re the most militant and UNtalented hacks I’ve ever come across. What if I told you that Paul Haggis (who wrote the “tolerant” film CRASH) and everyone of his staff were blonde and brunettes and NOT 1 non-white person? Would you have believed me?

Yes. I was raised in the Los Angeles area and, like a lot of people, crossed paths with people in the "Industry". The people who received no or little recognition were pretty down-to-earth about the whole thing and usually more talented than those who had some fame.

During the WGA strike I really got annoyed with some writers who fit "the self-important, union-backing WGA/SAG/whatever union white liberals" description because their recent work was embarrassingly awful. It was so bad I wondered if they weren't doing it deliberately to demonstrate the executives were stepping on their "artiste's souls".

I also told them to stop picketing the studios and whining about how they were demonstrating for the "employees oppressed by the evil corporations" and try their act in Compton.

And to shut up about "white, male, middle-class privilege".

One of my neighbors (Hollywood “closet” Republican) was actually a WGA striker (BUT he was one of the few who silently voted NO because he thought it was fair..the technology was not there to compare copyrights to royalties, but I digress).

Anyways, because he’s with the WGA, he was pretty much “coerced’ to strike with the other members at his time on a weekend for which he should’ve been doing something else. He met other writers in the picket line that he thought (and you & me) were the most dreadful, POS shows and movies that were canceled/box office duds..and he couldn’t believe these hacks were working writers!

A couple of them showed some specs/scripts that had the worst spelling mistakes he’s seen, he actually thought these guys had unpaid “ghostwriters” and they actually confided in him..and they were the ones NOT being paid fair money. MOST of them did not even graduate from high school (he added one and one together afterwards). True stories from the frontlines...
