Forget the predictions, forget the polls. The score is tied at 0-0.

Get out and VOTE.

My wife and I will be voting this afternoon. Went by my polling place on the way to the office and it was packed this morning. Ironic that most voting stations in Florida are in churches.

I voted about an hour ago, in rural Greene County of Missouri...a very important area in this election. Obama was here in Springfield Saturday.

Even though it was later in the morning, there were long lines in this very Republican area. While signing the book, I saw that my folks, who don’t always vote, had already been there and voted for McCain.

McCain must get nearly 60% of Greene County to win Missouri.

I saw my first honest-to-god PUMA waiting in line at my polling place!

She had a Hillary Clinton button on. I just wanted to hug her! She was middle aged, white and cheery! Just like all many PUMAs.

They ARE real, and if I saw one in my line of maybe 30 people, they are definitely going to give BO a heart attack today.

FRAUD going on in LA County. My ballot number has been recorded by the poll workers and it will be removed from the ballot box this evening. They claim I have already voted absentee but I have not. Even though I am a resident and registered voter who voted in the primaries I was given a provisional ballot. Nevertheless I am certain that once my ballot is retrieved and identified as a McCain vote it will be discarded

From a PUMA site post -

"Please excuse me if I don’t digress here folks and have us pledge our allegiance today:

“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the REPUBLIC for which its stand, One Nation under God, INDIVISIBLE with Liberty and Justice for ALL!”

Now let the Union Party of 2008 (the Pumaphant) win this one for the Republic."

They are committed to stop Obama, like we are.

Well, the hubby and I voted at around 9:30 -- place was virtually empty. A trio of McCain/Palin supporters was out on the sidewalk with their signs.

After we voted, we walked out to introduce ourselves and say a warm Florida "Hey" to our compatriots. Nice people, excited and energized. They said the reaction they were getting was really positive.

Now, granted, we live in Seminole County in FL, right along the I 4 corridor. So, we're weighted more to the right.

All we can do now is wait and pray, I guess.

Please go back. I am concerned after reading many posts from FReepers about long lines and leaving to go back later. Line may be just as long later. Stand in line and VOTE! Obama supporters will stand in line for weeks at a time for free handouts, we must Stand up and VOTE!

I always vote at the opening of the polls here in Auburn, Placer County, CA. I don't know our current ranking, but last time we had the highest R registration in the state, at 53.1%. Now it's 49.7. 3-4 times the usual number of people were at the opening of the polls. We're going to send Tom McClintock to Congress from CA-4, and pass Prop 8 to protect marriage. If turnout in this red island in a blue sea is this high, we have a real chance in the battlegrounds. For our country and our children, VOTE!

Hey, some good news from National Review on that blowout for Obama in that one tiny NH town..........apparently every 16 years the voters in Dixville Notch pick the wrong candidate.

Maybe some good fortune for McCain. :)

Of course, all this stuff is superstition.......get out and vote!

“The curse of the Notch [Mark Steyn]

Many readers, clutching at notches and notching at straws, draw my attention to the hitherto little-known 16-year Dixville Notch curse:

Election results:

1960 Nixon 9 Kennedy 0

1976 Ford 13 Carter 11

1992 Bush 15 Perot 8 Marrou 5 Clinton 3

2008 Obama 15 McCain 6

Every 16 years a candidate sweeps the Notch and goes on to lose the nation.

Clearly, Barack Obama is Nixon, Ford and Bush. And McCain is Andre Marrou. No, wait...

If you don’t want an Obama-Pelosi-Reid-Frank-Acorn supermajority, there’s only one way to stop it: Vote.”

Just returned from voting at the one of our local elementary schools. I only had to wait in line for about 20 minutes.

Voted: (Louisiana)
McCain/Palin
John Kennedy for Senator
Bill Cassidy for Congressman
“No” to 5 or 6 constitutional amendments
“No” to a massive bond issue put on the ballot by our wonderful Baton Rouge mayor-president

Now, we wait and pray!!
