Poss. McCain could win pop vote? maybe not but remember how the Dems kept saying “Gore Got More”? Elec vote is what matters

There is no easy way for Gore to proclaim with any certainty that he "won" the popular vote. To get a true accounting would have required tabulating all absentee ballots (including the disputed 3,000 military ballots in Florida that went to Bush and were approved by the courts but were not added to Katherine Harris' final certified tally).

The difference between Gore and Bush was 0.52%. That slim. Think that Bush maybe could have lost 1% of the support with the election eve disclosure of his DWI? Then it cost him the popular vote.
