I have been looking into this for quite a while now. I found out about it from Walter Williams.
The American government has been steadily eroding our constitutional rights for quite some time.
Conservatives have been successful in slowing this negative process for a time, but we may have reached a tipping point.
I have been criticized on FR for talking about secession. It is something to consider. The American government has broken its contract with the people and the states.
Freestate Project is not exactly a secession movement, but it is an opportunity for freedom loving citizens to gather in a place where we can have a greater impact politically.
Conservatives will be the new persecuted. They will try to silence us and disarm us. We must be prepared.

Alaska may be just the place to resettle. Beautiful scenery, independent people, and far, far away from the mainland.

Looking at the map - New Hampshire is blue, surrounded by blue. Not a great improvment from my now blue Florida.

The original FreeState is New Hampshire, and they sold their souls to a Marxist tonight. Where was the much-vaunted libertarian love of freedom that so galvanizes Granite State voters?
The FreeState concept works only to the point that you can: (1) keep socialists out of your chosen state; and (2) multiply YOUR population via increased birthrates. You might be able to achieve (2), but (as NH has already shown), achieving (1) is impossible.

We lost 48% to 51% in the popular vote, with an unpopular 2nd term president, and an economic recession. This is not the end of the world, and any overreaching by the democrats will lose them seats in two years. This is their high tide, we just need to chip away.
Can we please make it Texas? We have everything down here. Just have every patriot come here, kick out all the remaining Democrats that populate the state, seal the borders, kick out the illegals through state action, and start arming even more heavily.
I strongly disagree. This is the last national election the GOP will win I. My lifetime. Citizenship for 20 million democratic Hispanics, voting rights restored for 10 million felons. A permanant 100% block vote. By blacks. More time wasted playing this game is more lost rights, more confiscated wealth, more racial spoils. A new plan is needed.
The Free State project had a chance a while ago, when presidents had to dance around the middle. But not now. Huseein Obama will be treated by the MSM and all the talking heads truly as ‘the anointed one.’ He'll be able to get away with murder, because, whatever he attempts, if anyone argues against it, they will be buried with the charge that they are trying to destroy the presidency of the first Halfrican-American.

NH is *not* the place to establish such a ‘state’. It elected someone who will take away *all* our rights under the Constitution, which BTW he *reviles*—as given to us as a heritage by our Nation’s founders, our forefathers, and ancestors, who sacrificed *all* for the cause of Liberty, for the likes of *us*, who turned their gift into a travesty! Plus, all the *really* liberal socialists/communists from the Northeast move to both NH (esp. from MA) and VT (esp. from NY)—*not* the demographics for a promising future for such an undertaking!
It’s time for us to stand up right where we are, get involved in Conservative politics and organizations *immediately*—and tip the balance back to the Right *ASAP*!

The idea is intriguing bit NH would not be my first choice for a location for several reasons. The black flies are one, the dawn of the new little ice age is another.

This should become a national movement. Stop buying "junk." Save. It's a wonderful feeling not to have to keep buying "stuff." Once you break that habit, it's liberating!
Actually, the modern day "prophets" say Texas will be the first state to leave the union. You're going to tighten your borders because so many freedom loving people will try to move there. Eventually, other states will follow you.

If people stop spending so much, the government doesn't get it's money. If it doesn't get it's money, it can't buy votes. Without freebies, the democrats can't survive, because that's all they do - spend money on the base.

Don’t even THINK of moving to New Hampshire...take a look at last night’s results; then consider NH already has the second highest property taxes in the nation. Plus you’ll freeze your *ss off... :-)

My wife and I were the first family to relocate to New Hampshire after it was chosen as the Free State.
As dispirited as I am today by the results not only at the Federal level but also right here in New Hampshire, I still consider myself very lucky to live here out of all the other states in the Union. While we lost some ground for individual liberty and personal responsibility yesterday, we here in New Hampshire have the most ground left to give at the end of it all, and a energized, dedicated core of friends and activists who will be at the vanguard of the fight to take it back.
Some people may look to Alaska or Montana, and that’s fine if all you want to do is hunker down and let the storm blow through, but if you want to work with fellow activists to defend and reclaim liberty, it only takes about two hours to drive from one end to another of the major population centers of the state, as opposed to 11 hours from one end of Montana to the other, or as opposed to Alaska where there’s no roads at all in much of the state.
We’d welcome you here with open arms. Yesterday’s election demonstrated that we need all the help that we can get.

Also told that there are limited jobs and that property taxes are high.
With property taxes, you have local control and local accountability.
My wife and I were the deciding votes (154 to 153) to cut about $1.5 million from the town’s budget a couple of years ago, and thus cut property taxes accordingly.
Try doing that with a statewide income tax or sales tax.
Other states not only have high property taxes, they have high income and sales taxes. I’m paying about the same tax on my 3,200sf colonial on one wooded acre than I was paying on my 1,100sf ranch on a 5,000sf postage stamp in San Jose, California, and by waiting to buy our new car until we moved here, we saved $3,200 in sales tax.
Who cares what your neighbor does or doesn’t believe about God as long as he doesn’t want to redistribute your wealth? Don’t get bogged down in irrelevancies.
